Dad wants to finally put some money and upgrades into his ‘75 fj40.

Nothing too crazy, motor refresh as it’s old and low on compression in one cylinder. He’s thinking power steering and probably some insulation and carpet kit.

Anyways, Dad found Mudrak. We are in the east bay California. I’m not opposed to some travel for a good shop.

I did some research and there’s not much recent about this guy. Anybody have reviews? Any additional shops I can send his way to look into?

Well all I have is my personal contact/ experience.
Gary and his wife were behind the counter the day I went in for arb parts after the factory quit selling to the public.
They were gracious and informed ,

Knew their stuff and seemd involved in the sport.
My transaction was great.
His main guy was my youth leader in 4h camp 22 years ago and I remember thinking how sharp he was.
He started in small engines ended running the sthil shop when the bos was away.

The parking lot must have 2 dozen " on the list" rigs.
The personal rigs rock also.

There's a club guy in napa if you can get a slot as he does great builds on crawlers, bikes and hotrods So he's busy...

Thanks. My dad is NOT a car guy. So when he came to me with his choice I was skeptical. Seemed knowledgeable from the website. But nice to know he’s a solid guy.

Well he will miss out then cuz the other shop across the way does awesome street rods...:flipoff2:
I think he should be fine.
As always I don't do recommendations for paid for work any more.
Cuz people suck:beer:

Maybe as close are:
Georg at Valley Hybrids in Stockton - good work, part of the community
Ron Diaz at <can't find> in Gilroy - not sure if he closed doors but his shop was over off Buena Vista near the steel shop on Deneo.

I've known both for decades. Ron was doing cruisers back in the late 90s in his garage when I met him.
