got a 5hp 240v motor that the run cap's all bulged and it's drawing high amps, so I know its junk
only problem is that the label has a rub spot on it right where it said the uF rating
any of ya'll know how to look up a chart for that sorta shit? google wants to sell me on DEI tranny ideology rather than show anything helpful
start cap's a 747mfd
dayton (grainger) model 6k757b
230v, 23.5a, 1800 rpm, service factor 1.15, "motor ref" j087a/g94f
395469-019-sfd4450a14 on the cap

ETA: found it on yandex, 50mfd

It's around 7 microfarads per hp, so take hp times 7, then divide that number by 1000000 to convert to farads. 7x5 =35. 35 ÷ 1000000 = 3.5

There is a relationship between the start and run capacitor. If you put ther wrong size it will shorten the life of the motor.

Got some results from yandex, it's apparently a 50mfd. York made the old one apparently since sfd4450a14 is their number

why google wanted to show me a blank screen with one unrelated result? Probably because I'm not oppressed enough.
