After 40k miles on Grabber x3s on my Ram, one is starting to come apart. In 2018 I paid $275 a tire for these. They are now $475. I keep hearing 7-8% inflation but its sure as hell not what I am seeing. Going to Bfg kos on the truck. Will be just over $2k out the door for 4, no certs. 35 12.50 18s.

Add that to the $13k for new AC in the house a couple weeks ago.
I might need to go flip burgers on weekends despite a 6 figure salary.. #FJB.

Ok, i will quit whining now. If you voted for this asshole, though.. enjoy a nice bag of dicks.

Just had to replace trailer tires... last set was march of 2020 and they were 126 a tire.... exact same tire is 198 today

I get they're a specialty tire, but for fucks sake $6500/4 is absolutely insane.

put summer tires on the car just before the rona.
$450 out the door for falken UHP summer tires.
They're now $180 a piece + the mounting and balance.

These were $550 two years ago. :barf: $970 today and I've heard there is already another price bump in line for the next batch.

I just paid $2200 for 37x12.5x17 for Baja Boss's. Once upon a time I paid $1000 flat for 5x 35" patagonias.

Paid $491.35 for 4 185/70R13 mounted and balanced for the Sunbeam today. Up almost $20 a tire from when they first quoted me 2 months ago. Crazy for such a little tire.

surplus humvee baja t/a (with a set of chains because they suck)

Wonder how much effort it'd take to cut them enough to flex good. Like how the russkis cut tires right down to the belts so they'll flex real good

My brother was getting one patched and he heard them quote a guy with an RV nearly $1k per tire. Said they were the only ones they could get In whatever size he needed.

What I'm seeing in construction, through direct year over year comparisons is more like 15.5% (each year) from 2018 - 2022.

EDIT: .. and since this started about tires; I just paid a little over 3k for (6) 37x13-50 Yokohamas X-ATs installed on my Ram 3500. :shaking:

I spent $1600 for duratracs on my truck. Another $600 for a pair of winter tires and 1 steel wheel on my van. Wife’s KL likely needs tires by the time summer rolls around.

just put duratracs on my truck. from last week until today when my buddy ordered the tires they went up $25 per tire. in a fucking week.

The LC need new tires. Current ones are starting to dry rot (it only sees about 5k miles a year). Seems like $226 apiece for 285/75r16 Nitto Terra Grapplers might be the way to go.

Hopefully I can get $400-500 for them in a year or so when I get around to lifting it and going to 37s. Was hoping to have that done already but life gets in the way.

just run the cracked ones another year

long as you keep them pumped up full they don't seem to shred
sometimes they ply separate, but I've had them go very lumpy for thousands of miles

I've never heard anyone say anything positive about those tires.

I've been having really good luck with non big name brand tires for a while. Falken, milestar, kenda, and Hankook(and the discount tire branded version) do everything the bfgs and toyos I've had sometimes better, for less money. The only problem I've had, is that people figure out they're good tires and next you know they're 90%+ the price of bfg or gy. Falken at3 was a great tire, I'd buy again, but they aren't $650 a set anymore :(

Just got new snow tires for my daughter's pontiac vibe. Got them about at cost $92 each. Year and half ago they were around $75. Shits out of control.

I got 5 315/70r17 Mastercraft Courser for $1500 mounted and balanced last year. Probably cost way more now.

Bought a set of General Grabber ATX in 275/70/17 it was $850 out the door from Tire Rack in 2021. Looks to be $1207 today for the same tire.

Edit: I had them mounted at some hole in the wall mexican shop for $40. I asked the guy what he could get them for and he said $500. next time I need tires I'll go there first and see what I can get.

Yeah, Falken Wildpeaks use to be my go to on the 4Runner. They're pricy now.

I would. My wife DDs the LC though (the whole 6 mile roundtrip commute) and she worries about fucking everything. It's worth it to me to get her to STFU about it.

Yeah, Falken bought the market and they did well so they want to charge big money now.

I’m hoping we see price decreases soon.

I’m hearing some of the “established overseas” brands like Milestar are starting to do price decreases. They could go up during covid because the true Chinese as fuck tires weren’t getting to the USA. Now they are back….so milestar went down.

Of course the distributors won’t drop their price until they sell out their old inventory.

But…hopefully when they go down, the big players go down.

It’s usually the opposite. The big names are the first to go up, then the smaller guys. Going down it’s the little guys first, then the big guys.

With all that said, you can still kiss pre covid prices goodbye. Maybe it won’t hurt as bad but it will still hurt.

Are these Thunderer tires worth a fuck? Price seems too good to be true but I'm seeing good reviews. Look like they're Thailand and not Chinese.

I might just suck it up and buy the fucking Falkens.
