Any mobile hunters or saddle hunters in here?

Mobile, as in climbing stands, or as in spot and stalk?

Yes to both. Looked into saddle hunting, but didn’t feel like spending the money when I already have a climber. I have a Ol’ Man Alumalite CTS. It’s nice and lite for packing in places.

Cool. Mobile as in climber/lock on/saddle. Light weight, packable. Look on MIDWAY USA at the hawk helium combo. Super light stand & sticks for $206! It’s a steal.

I was in a climber a last year but there were a lot of trees I couldn’t hunt. So I’m going with a different set up. $20 bucks In dyneema off amazon and I have no metal buckles now.

That sounds like a good price. It’s been a few years, but I think mine was around $300.

I really like my Ol’ Man climber. I’ve used a few other brands, and didn’t like them as much. The regular metal ones also get heavy when carrying them, a backpack, and a rifle or bow.

Honestly, where I hunt in TX, it’s hard to find a tree straight and tall enough for my climber. I mainly use it deer hunting in AR. A lock on would be a better option here. Whatever you do, invest in a tree stand safety harness. I came close to a bad fall a few years ago without one on. Won’t climb up again without it.

I use a harness and linemans belt to climb trees. We use lifelines on all 14 or so tree stands at my place. We don't mess around with falling safety.

I've got five tee stands on my property. I just sit in those. I feel like when I'm moving around, I'm scaring everything off in a one mile radius.

That’s great on private land. I’ve had better luck doing spot and stalk on public land.
