Anybody running them and how true to size do they run when air’d up? I found a set of 40” X’s to replace my absolute shit 39.5 Iroks and was hoping they’re closer to size than the 37” of the Interco‘s .

06h3 has the 43's and if i remember right they were very true to size... but almost 15" wide.
If they run true to size then the 40x13.5 will be perfect..the 43’s are just too wide for my liking…I saw a set on the trial and they look 20+ inches at the sidewall.

I liked them, but the supplier i ordered them through took over 3 months to get any idea when they would be in, so i bit the $ bullet and bought 40" treps. I already know i like them, but 4 of those cost 600 more then 5 of the pro x in the 40's:homer:

buddy just got a set of these and they are very tall

43s next to his 40" LTBs

Interested to see them mounted and next to the 40 LTB.

More pics and details on the truck

Him or his friend has a build thread either here or at the old place.

buddy built the truck while at my place and there is a build thread i did up for it on the old site as had lots of people asking about it. was a $700 2000 F250 that he built on the cheap, hence the Welfare name. it evolved and is a really wicked trail truck

Ok cool that's promising as an option on the new buggy. Current buggy has the 40 LTBs, new will have 43+, I'm kind of hoping the 47 LTB comp comes out as that would be the perfect tire for the new buggy

Sorry for the delay. 15in wide from widest tread block to widest tread block.

17in-17.5in wide from side lug to side lug. They are balloonish type tires and not squared off like other MTs.

A hair under 42in at 20 psi on a 6800 lb rig, tread depth is about 18/32. Remember, these tires have a new tread depth of almost 1in deep! (27/32, most normal MTs are 21-22/32nd) So mine are probably 60% tread life left. At 30-35 psi not on a rig they are probably quite a bit taller.

On the new Baja boss I’m excited to see a streetable 44in tire. Most MTs above a 42 aren’t streetable.

I think my next tire will be the 42in Baja Boss. I love my Baja pro XS. They are the best tire I have run and transformed my rig but I’ll also admit I’ve never run a sticky or gnarly tire before (my Baja pro XS still isn’t a sticky) but they have done wonders. I also think the crazy width helps heavier rigs like mine.

One downside is obviously tire wear. When I drive it on the highway it feels like I’m throw $20 out the window every 10 miles because I’m just wearing them out. They are pretty damn soft for a non sticky.

Another downside is noise, they are so damn loud a buddy towing his rig in front of me could hear them from his tow rig.

Last downside is they suck power. I have 400 horsepower. I could run in overdrive all day long (minus big grades) at 70-80 mph with my 40in STT pros. Now it feels like I have 200 horsepower. Constantly fighting the 4th down to 3rd back to 4th gear on anything but perfectly flat ground. It’s just hunting for that gear.

With 40s I have done 2000-3000 mile road trips. With 43s I’ll trailer if it’s more then 300 miles one way. That’s my rule but admittedly, I don’t think I have done anything more then 100 miles one way, not because of the tires but because that’s just how it’s worked out.

So I think the 42in Baja boss is the happy medium…but I’m worried I’ll be throughly disappointed off-road.

Jeep guys seem to love the Baja boss. They claim offroad performance is more then they expected.

I truly feel the 42x13.50 profile is perfect. Mickey has my attention since Nitto and Milestar currently are only doing it in 20". I know maxxis makes the trep, but they are very proud of them, and performance seems to be lacking.

Great , sounds like they run true to size.

38x13.5x17 next to my 37x12.5x17 MTR "road tires" these are the XS not the X thou.

Are the sumbitchlldig versions all bias or radial?

Both sticky and poor people versions are bias.
I commented here based on my searches of the Pro X and XS’s but I’ve been called into question if I spoke correctly. Turns out he has XS’s for sale and he is 100% sure they are radial , which I can find no proof were ever produced…anybody ever seen in print or in person a radial version of the ProXS?

Treps are great tire ! Much better than the Baja Boss for hardcore use
Sooo playing devils advocate here....I remember several videos of Jake Burkey hating his new treps and saying how he was switching back to the sx.

Have you seen Burkey review Baja Boss tires for bouncer use ?

My statement was Baja Boss vs Treps. I don't see what SXs have to do with this.
