Because I Was Inverted
For all you metrology guys, looking for some opinions.
I lead the engineering group for an automotive company, and I'm trying to convince the owner to equip our inspection labs a bit better (without breaking the bank). An opportunity has come up to get a used (by an automotive Tier1) Metris MCA v2.5 articulating arm for hopefully a great deal.
In a previous life as a plant manager, my inspection lab had a ROMER arm that worked out to be a pretty slick (but expensive) solution. All I really did there was fight for the money to buy it, and then I gave it to my guys to setup and use.
So, any opinions on a used Metris? How do they compare to ROMER or FARO arms? I'm avoiding thinking about the calibration services, because that's where these companies make their money .
Thanks for input!
