Masks

Washington State is open for business as of June 30th. I was just at Dick's (walk up burger joint in Seattle) and most people were wearing masks. I asked, the guy told me not needed if vaxxed, so I said "boom" and took off my mask. I still saw several people wearing masks walking down/across the street totally alone. People are dum. Further out away from Seattle (^Snohomish County, where I also live^), it's been pretty reasonable for months now.

Oh, and the GF and I sat at a bar on Wednesday without masks for the first time (in Washington) since we met. Finally!!!

Weird thing I noticed the other day on a shopping run...

Auto parts store, Walmart, liquor store? Hardly a mask to be seen, mostly on workers, handful of shoppers.

Home Depot? Like 50% of people in there.

This is all in the same shopping area, in the same town, and all places have the same rules/signage. Dunno why people at Home Depot would be more inclined to wear them.

Sf bay area id say 99+% still wear masks in businesses. I am more often then not the only person not wearing one

Upstate NY, 1-30% depending on the store.
Walmart (per a comment by a cashier the other day) has said that vaccinated employees do not need to wear masks.
Most stores do not have a posted requirement (other than a little hole in the wall "San Miguel Mexican Store" I stopped at the other day that required them for everyone, but gave me some crackers to try which required removing my mask), dentist still requires it, auto parts store (little hole in the wall, not a chain) and lumber yard haven't required one for almost a year now.

I’m on an east coast vacation with the family. So far the only maskless places I have seen are downtown philly and all of West Virginia

As others said, still have dumbasses driving by themselves wearing masks.

CA being the retarded state it is, has their own special OSHA which says non-vaxxed employees are still supposed to mask.

Has been weird here. I would say about a month ago we were down to 10% or less mask wearing potatoes now seems to be back to 30% +/- 10% might just be because I'm in and out of smaller stores more often, not sure. Have yet to wear a mask yet, they tried to make me a few times when you decided not to buy a 25k or so thats when the retail side changes, all of a sudden management comes out apologizing, especially if you have an order that is pulled but you won't take delivery, had a few canceled. Coporate calls because six figures and you get a few thousand off and the mangers get an ass chewing, makes me laugh especially at the yuppie stores. Supply house's never gave 2 fucks if they knew you. It was always 'good to see ya how's the family' ect. Funny how that works.

Starting to get back to normal, in that when you see a mask, you keep your eye on that because it might be a robber.

Just got an email from the school. No masks this year for anyone. Based on the wording I bet they had more than a few Karen's sending emails. :lmao:

I wore a mask more hours today than I have the entire time up till now since this whole farce started a year and a half ago. 7 hours to fly from Colorado to Florida, had to wear a mask the whole time. It was refreshing to hit the ground in Florida and even the airport workers are wearing their masks around their necks.

Clark Coutny/Las Vegas area is bringing them back. Only for employees though. Tourists are free to do whatever they want because tourism brings money here and saying masks are required for all would stop tourism again.

New mask mandate in Las Vegas excludes tourists, casinos

EDIT: it is only COUNTY employees and only when in indoor public settings. Unsure if that means sitting in your cubicle means you have to wear a mask, or just walking around common areas. I assume just walking around common areas.

Montana.

I haven't ever really worn one. I would wear one on my chin if I had to work in Costco, but the only time I'm in the store they're closed so nobody cared since I wasn't around members.

I was there today doing some lightpoles by the front doors. I remember seeing 3 people wearing them outside, in their cars, like idiots. Thousands of others went without.

I'm not sure when our mandate was lifted, as I wasn't following it in the first place.

Now, Hawaii was fucking nuts. The liberal cesspool that place has become blew my mind. Can't use a store restroom because they don't have staff to clean up all the needles and paraphernalia from the locals, but don't breathe on me!
I literally got to the point of just pissing in random alleys because you couldn't find anywhere that was open.

The resort and beach was nice. Rest of Maui was just one big facepalm.

Unvaccinated state employees are getting weekly tests starting mid august. A mask is no big deal.

Only place requiring a mask is dr offices over here. Meh DGAF anymore. Bandana goes from head to mouth. Ya'll be shaking in your boots over a cold china gave you. Boo fucking hoo.

My daughter quit her new babysitting job because the parents want her to wear a mask.
They also want her to either wash her hands or use hand sanitizer when she touches the child.
My daughter got the vaccine to keep two other jobs she has.

I stopped at Kroger on the way home yesterday. You would have thought it was 6 months ago. Employees masked and 90% of shoppers as well. Mainstream media working these folks like a 2 piece puzzle.

And yet, Germany still had waves of corona go through it just like everywhere else in the world... masks weren't going to stop it, or even slow any virus down:eek:

I think I’m going to start wearing scrubs every day. including scrub caps, nitrile gloves, and crocs

And yet, the USA has around double the number of deaths per million. All while people are so very much closer to one another in Germany.

Germany has been one of the top countries in handling this issue.
During the entire course it has ranked favorable.

Again: 96% mask compliance is a key part of it.

Here is 2020 snapshot. They all look like this.

"number of deaths per million"

You can't just say the deaths? Like, what is it, four out of a million compared to eight out a million? Got to church it up a little?
