M.E.T. Snow Update

Was quiet up there today, not many tracks. EID was plowing to Bonetti Road. Not sure if they went down Bonetti, there was a backhoe and a pickup plowing. They were at Bonetti/MET when we passed them and then were behind them when we left about two hours later.

We stopped between Bonetti and Pilliken, nobody went by for like an hour, this was around 1:30-2:00. Was snowing pretty good.

Was that you that got stuck near North South?

Anyone been up lately? Where is snow level at? Anyone want to tour around on Sunday?

Pretty slushy I'd imagine.
Headed to Moab on Sunday or I'd meet you up there.

Maybe, not sure on my plans.

The wife just told me the misinformation mongers are calling for a heat wave that will bring flooding and the end of days and shit:flipoff2:
Could be fun, could bring the suck...

MET will be a month before it opens unless plowed.

North South was plowed two weeks ago to allow logging equipment in.

we were on 6+ feet of snow on the shaded side of the ridges around 6000 feet this weekend.

Any chance of another decent day run like we did in November?
I need an excuse to pull off the street tires for re balancing .

MET is being plowed this week.

they were a mile short of Silverfork on Saturday.
talked to the operator and he said they were going to Silverfork as well as down Silverfork.

snow is hard and spotty to Silverfork and then covered past that.
there is 6-8 feet of snow on the top of Silverfork just past the gate

Daaaaaaaaang
So are the side roads open?
Or is it still winter closure season?

WLDWUN So they cleared the S curve from my photo?

I was estimating a depth of 6-10 feet, guess I was low.

yes the S curve is cleared now. the loader is still at the Silverfork junction.
I expect they will clear another 1/4 mile as that will get them to all the log decks.

went all the way to the turn into Leek Spring Lookout. could have gone all the way to 88.
I made it about a half mile in to the tower and the tree wells were to much for me. (some were 10 feet deep)
rode with Dave and we worked our way to the tower and had lunch.

I would think Packsaddle would still have heavy snow once you get on the Strawberry side of it.
let us know
A couple of buddies ran it last night and said it was clear.
"That was the easiest part." Is what they said.

There is this much snow at the top of Long Canyon.
Ran up Strawberry till we didn't want to deal with slush.
Definitely not the graded road it was last year. A couple spots could use some work before they disappear.
