M.E.T. Snow Update

Was quiet up there today, not many tracks. EID was plowing to Bonetti Road. Not sure if they went down Bonetti, there was a backhoe and a pickup plowing. They were at Bonetti/MET when we passed them and then were behind them when we left about two hours later.

We stopped between Bonetti and Pilliken, nobody went by for like an hour, this was around 1:30-2:00. Was snowing pretty good.

Nah, didn’t go that far. Wanted to, but my daughter and the dogs just wanted play time. We didn’t go past Park Creek even.

MET will be a month before it opens unless plowed.

North South was plowed two weeks ago to allow logging equipment in.

we were on 6+ feet of snow on the shaded side of the ridges around 6000 feet this weekend.

and actually they moved the closure point a mile up from Silverfork a few years ago.

we cleaned the steel deck bridge off Friday to get a group up a little past there.

MET is being plowed this week.

they were a mile short of Silverfork on Saturday.
talked to the operator and he said they were going to Silverfork as well as down Silverfork.

snow is hard and spotty to Silverfork and then covered past that.
there is 6-8 feet of snow on the top of Silverfork just past the gate

At the hairpin turn past Silverfork. No discernible tire tracks past here

Silverfork Road a few yards south of MET.


Road was cleared at the top, only drove in a few minutes and the snow decreased a lot.

just past the S curves

they stopped 1/4 mile past here.
I went a mile past that

WLDWUN So they cleared the S curve from my photo?

I was estimating a depth of 6-10 feet, guess I was low.

yes the S curve is cleared now. the loader is still at the Silverfork junction.
I expect they will clear another 1/4 mile as that will get them to all the log decks.
