What's new

LS 911

I truly do not get instagram at all.

So it is just random pictures of shit?

How the fuck would I understand what the hell he has / is doing on that car?

No structure, no information.

Garbage.
Obviously it's not a message board. I'm sure you could go find him on some 996 LS swap owners message board somewhere in the ether, but for quick updates-

Click on a picture/video, read the caption. This one for example sort of gives a status on his porsche

Instagram is a marketing platform. Not a bulletin board meant to share info.

Hey fellas, I'll start a new thread with updated pics and info. I put 650 miles on the LS1 996 before losing a rod bearing. It's the same bearing that the seller of the LS1 took apart to "show me it's good", but I think the bolts had been used too many times and stretched. I ended up giving that LS1 short block to a friend building a 4500 YJ. I have a fresh LS1 with new crank and rod bearings and 24k miles on the rest of the short block. I swapped over all the other components and it fired up last weekend. Holds 52psi of oil pressure at idle :D

I dyno tuned the car at Turbo Technologies in Tacoma WA. Matt did a great job fixing all the small issues and requests I gave him. The LS1 996 put down 393 rwhp. Pretty good for a car that weighs around ~3200lbs with a full interior and spare tire. I've been working on a bunch of small stuff to fix the remaining issues. I have two brand new cooling fans and resistors waiting to go in. I just installed a new single DIN stereo with the GT3 console delete. I have some Focal 4" speakers for the rear of the car and Infinity kappa 42.9i for the front. Memphis 8" subs in an enclosure I designed to go with the 500w amp that came with the car. Next I'll replace the seats and steering wheel to complete the interior refresh. I'll be installing the AC system this winter. I have a tach box from ebay to have a fully functioning factory gauge cluster. Power steering system is fully done with stainless brackets and a trigger for the ignition - the pump sounds like a small jet engine spooling up.

There's 15 sets of the 180 headers in the wild. Recently an orange wide body classic 911 with a fresh LS7 bought a set and he'll be updating his IG with pics and video when he's done. There's a local guy with a Turbo 996 with LS swap that also bought my headers and muffler kit. I have another local 996 with my headers and muffler kit that's almost finished with his LS1 swap, so there's a chance you'll see 3 LS swapped 996 cars with 180 headers together on a trip next year.

I'll start the new build thread here over the next couple days as I get time.

I can see it from at laptop no problem :/

Glad you made it over. I enjoyed this build and it was one of the few reasons I would go back to the old place.
