A friend of mine in middle Long Island is retiring. Property taxes are around $15K per year and she is a widow who now lives alone. We are trying to find her a reliable person to share the house (and expenses) with, but Roommates.com has only yielded scammers and crazy people.
I imagine there are tons of older people who struggle with the high cost of living of Long Island. Any suggestions as to where to look and advertise? Thanks.
