As a pretty middle of the road moderate, I'm one of the more left leaning IBBers but with that said, honestly this has been the left wing approach for years now. Just look at all the liberal ran cities where things have at best stayed about the same for minority populations and in many cases actually gotten worse. It turns out that constantly telling people how the system and the entire world for that matter is against them while throwing them a few crumbs here and there doesn't really help them improve their situation.

When my kids were applying for anything related to college, I told them to use any angle they could. Of course... it didn’t make much of a difference 🙃

What do the recipients do with it? 4. What, if any, were the visible results of they money? New consumer goods? Splurge in groceries? Spike in drugs and ODs?

Well thats kinda the whole point of making a donation somewhere and saying "this is what I want you to do with it"

If they were taking peoples tax dollars I would have a problem with it. However in this case they're just distributing donations per the request of the people who donated it, I'm happy to see it done, as I believe when the program ends it will just confirm that in practice it doesn't work.
