What's new

Little Red (1996 Geo Tracker)

Decided to tear into the alternator tonight and get it cleaned while waiting for tools and parts.

Those Indian mechanics are rubbing off on me. Was going to buy a new one for the rebuild, but said screw it. This thing is filthy.

Well, I took and used a slight bit of grinding compound on the valves to clean the seats up all nice and shiny. Intake side offered zero issues re-sealing. Exhaust side all leak. :mad3: So, I bought new exhaust valves and back to the machine shop it goes, because I cannot lap those new valves in to save my life.

In the meantime I’m pulling the 95’ drivetrain with 115k miles on it that runs well and tossing it in this. I’ll get the motor I just rebuilt all clean and every bracket and stuff painted so it’ll be ready to go in whatever, whenever I need it. I want this on the road sooner, rather than later. It’ll be a good little gas saver.
