My super easy newest favorite ingredient: Jalapeno pickled garlic.
Buy a jar of sliced jalapenos. Eat jalpapeno slices. Then peel some garlic cloves and toss them in the jalapeno juice for a few weeks. Voila. They may turn blue, and apparently that's ok. Hasn't killed me anyways.
They are rugged to eat straight, but actually pretty subtle as an ingredient. I started going 50/50 with regular garlic, and you can just taste the jalapeno. Use it straight up gives nice heat but not too much. Dice some up and throw it on a burger. Makes a for a killer alfredo sauce. Mix with horseradish, mayo, sour cream, and a touch of lemon juice for the best horseradish sauce evar. My wife only likes medium salsa, so I'll pour some of the juice in the salsa or right over the food if we're doing mexican. Haven't tried it with my cereal yet but I'm close. Stuff is awesome. Do it.
