I started my searches with XS power, and I'm getting overwhelmed. Does anyone have experience with Li batteries?

Only in the r/c stuff. LiPo.

I recently checked out a Lithium for the Harley. It came uncharged so I was told I needed a special charger for it. Also, that if completely disconnected it will never lose a charge. However in cold weather applications like snowmobiles, they barely function. (I admit, I may be wrong on this; its what I've read about them)

My DR is going to need a battery soon so I'll be tuning into this thread as well to see what comes up.

Same here with the R/C stuffs. Everything was better.

I'm not in a cold weather climate, so I shouldn't see big issues.

I'm no expert, but been reading that Lithium-Iron (not a typo) do well in cold weather.

I've still got a lot of reading to do before I buy one though for my sleds, and my sleds are all quick connect so I can bring the batteries inside with me at night.

I edited my post to reflect that. When I got home I was looking around to see what the story was on Li batteries for the Harley afterall, and that was one of things that was said about them. cannot confirm if true or not.

Assuming you're talking about replacing a standard lead acid battery in a car or motorcycle, I would suggest against using any lithium batteries in either. The problem I see is getting a lithium battery fire under control. Lithium is a metal that once on fire, it burns hotter and is very difficult to get under control.
