I keep seeing memes and reading reports of hurricane relief. It is maddening.

One of the articles I saw today on ABC news is "$20M in US Govt. hurricane relief to disaster stricken area"

Bear with me on these numbers.

By the admission of the article, 179,000 households are without power in North Carolina alone.

$20M / 179,000 = $111 per taxpayer. This is only counting the numbers of NC who are without power and still have their homes. Not mentioning other states and those who have lost everything. So that will pay to perhaps re-fill their fridge in North Carolina in my scenario. Boil it down further to everyone affected and you are at around $15/taxpayer.

On the Department of State Website they are touting that they have spent nearly $120B in Aid to Ukraine since 2014 mostly after an uptick once Russia invaded. And they are fucking proud of this.

Thanks a lot... for NOTHING.

:flipoff2:

They are happy because it's all volunteers that actually care helping right now while the government "mobilizes it's resources" so they can swoop in and fuck everything up for the victims all while somehow lining some politicians pockets. Our government just outright sucks. :mad3:

The government at this point only serves to steal wealth from Americans and funnel it to other counties. Look at what that power bottom Lindsey kid fucker graham was saying after touring the damage in SC, some bullshit about how Israel is more important. Fuck these people!

Any sitting politician talking about how our #1 priority should be funding some other country's war should be ran out of office at minimum.

I'm seeing 45 million has already been pushed out by FEMA, yeah yeah it's still only double the above. You won't really know the full amount until sometime after if ever.

Call your congress people, I think they are all on recess....

Please educate me so we can all be in the know.

So for example, the 8 billion we just gave them.........that was mostly in military equipement, ammo, and weapons. This allows libs to cry that we aren't really "taking away from Americans" because it's just shit that apparently we were going to throw away or something.

It IS true that the aid number isn't just cash and much of it is in military assets. I am not sure how that matters since if I give away all my stuff I am not going to use (possibly), it isn't like I don't have to replace all of it somehow.

In other words, fuck Ukraine as far as the USA being their sugar daddy. ESPECIALLY when we have American people that need help in the most dire of the words.

Most of our funding to Ukraine has been in the form of equipment and training. We haven't given them any equipment from the past 20 years, it's all stuff that has been replaced.

Well, replaced is tough because it has caused a significant issue getting certain parts and such.

We've also given pallets of cash and are, or were, largely funding their organic economy as well.

Some people say that since the majority of the massive amount of aide has been in the form of equipment and not raw cash, that it doesn't matter as much.

This annoys some people because it is all still a significant cost, the old equipment would've been sold for some sort of compensation to anybody else, rather than donated to have the political write off clout, or purchased with our own money directly.

It sounds like there’s another hurricane brewing in the gulf. It is predicted to be around a cat 3, and it’s predicted to hit the middle of Florida 😕.

I’m sure the climate change warriors will be right behind :shaking:

It's basically money laundering but it's by the government so that makes it legal.

This shit pisses me off. American citizens should be buying that shit cheap.

Honestly, I'm not even convinced it is better than the money laundering which is direct engagement war. I say this as a bit of an isolationist/global pacifist. If we really give a shit, it would cost us LESS to have ran our own tanks through Europe. We'd have had greater success, so long as the politics allowed for releasing the hounds of war.

And then we could take a proper break for a few years, occupying and all that jazz

They've figured out they can get 90% of the money laundering done with only 10% of the domestic resistance when it isn't Americans being shipped off to fight and getting killed or coming back fucked up. That gets messy. A lot more convenient to send foreigners into the meat grinder and pump up the domestic population to wave flags and root then on like it's a sporting event.
