Not Sure
I keep seeing memes and reading reports of hurricane relief. It is maddening.
One of the articles I saw today on ABC news is "$20M in US Govt. hurricane relief to disaster stricken area"
Bear with me on these numbers.
By the admission of the article, 179,000 households are without power in North Carolina alone.
$20M / 179,000 = $111 per taxpayer. This is only counting the numbers of NC who are without power and still have their homes. Not mentioning other states and those who have lost everything. So that will pay to perhaps re-fill their fridge in North Carolina in my scenario. Boil it down further to everyone affected and you are at around $15/taxpayer.
On the Department of State Website they are touting that they have spent nearly $120B in Aid to Ukraine since 2014 mostly after an uptick once Russia invaded. And they are fucking proud of this.
Thanks a lot... for NOTHING.
