It's certainly unique. Their timing is pretty terrible though. The only 5.7x28 I've seen in the last 4 months is American Eagle at $70 a box.

meh, it held out longer than a lot of things

if ruger hadn't come out with theirs it'd probably still be on the shelf because it's always been basically 22mag for .308 prices
well, the american eagle stuff coming out brought it down to just above .223 price but still

high velocity pistols are a thing that is... interesting
been meaning to get off my ass on a 10mm necked down to .30 to use those eabco sabots with

I was hoping that the ruger coming out would bring more types of ammo out. It may eventually, but they are too busy cranking out more in demand chamberings for it to happen any time soon.

The 5.7 in a pistol is pretty meh for me. I have an FN, but for the cost and what it does, I kinda wish I hadn't bothered. The big selling point was the 20 round magazines. Now there are several 9mms that hold that many rounds. It fit's with my FN collection though so I will hold onto it.

The PS90 is a lot of fun, the wife likes to shoot it. Almost no recoil, nice and accurate in a handy size. The hitting power is definitely lacking vs an actual rifle round, but for varmits it is enough.

That Kel tech looks like it can carry on the fine tradition of the tech-9 as a gang banger pistol. The ATF is going to have a hard on for it I am sure.

Keltec is the king of developing innovative firearms designs that no body wants.

Even Mark Serbu's creations make more sense. But somehow keltec always follows the same patterns - WTF, "Influencers" come up with some shit, Demand takes off at the same time they aren't making them, prices skyrocket for a while.

You always could (well till they went under) get a ar57 in pistol length. I have one of them.

I like that they keep making the sort of stupid shit that nobody else does. I bought an RFB a while back, I'd kinda like an SU-16 (the foldy .223 thing), and if the sub2000 weren't the kind of garbage I could whip up in my garage in several hours' work I'd probably be interested in one of them too.

the only things they make that I would carry are their little tiny pocket guns, everything else is kinda in the realm of 'range toy'

eta: I bet this thing would be a riot in FA with a folding stock, wonder if it's locked breech or just straight blowback like the p90 is

Pretty sure it would be blowback like all the other 5.7s out there.

No Interest in this Keltec, but I have had several of their products in the past.
Not opposed to owning any in the future.
Would be interested in an RDB survival, but they are very scarce and overpriced for the quality in my opinion.
Make a nice very compact travel gun that takes ar mags.

Have handled a couple of KS7s but just can't get past that they would have to kick like a mule with how light and compact they are.

Sold my Sub2k, was nice and compact when folded, never had an issue with it, but it didn't shoot as well as the other pccs out there. Other than the folding novelty and glock 33 rnd mags there isn't much draw. Now there are trigger kits and more aftermarket parts to make them better, maybe that would have made enough difference to keep it, but I doubt it.

My KSG has been great.

Their problem is they build in batches and production always seems to not meet demand and they don't have any interest in changing that dynamic.

Photos of what looks like an advertisement for a yet-to-be-announced KelTec firearm have begun to circle around on social media for what would be one of the company’s most interesting products to-date.

The ad is for the KelTec P50, a large-format pistol chambered for FN 5.7x28mm that accepts P90 magazines. The flyer even calls it the “Most unique KelTec yet!”

It’s easy to see why. The P50 is totally futuristic and looks like a movie or video game gun. It’s not just eye-catching, it looks extremely functional, with a long barrel and 50-round P90 magazine slotted in the middle of the action.

While this looks like a pistol in the legal sense, the design of the receiver and pistol grip extension could also support a stock or brace, making the P50 a potential successor to the original FN P90 personal defense weapon, or PDW.

The design looks like it has two main components, a polymer lower receiver assembly that contains the fire control parts and provisions for a forend and 6-o’clock accessory rail and a ventilated, metal upper receiver, with a partial-length rail over the length of the barrel for optics and other top-mounted accessories.

The P50 appears in-line with the construction methods often used at KelTec, with a clamshell lower and a stamped or extruded upper receiver. It even sticks with KelTec’s telltale waffle-pattern gip texture.

There is a KelTec tradmark for “P50” with the USPTO. (Photo: USPTO)

Furthermore, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has a listing for a KelTec P50 trademark dating back to February of this year. So this is more likely real than not, and the only question is, when and if KelTec announces it.

It stands to reason that this may have been slated for a late 2020 or an early 2021 announcement since that would have been right around the time of the NSSF’s upcoming SHOT Show, which unfortunately has been canceled. KelTec is a prominent participant at SHOT Shows and often showcases new and exciting products at the event.

KelTec likes to push boundaries at these events, putting guns on display that really highlight the bright and curious minds within the company. This would absolutely qualify as a show-stopper for KelTec.

That isn’t a guarantee, though. While KelTec has a solid history of new and interesting designs, not all of their cool ideas fully materialize. It wouldn’t be the first time for KelTec to start marketing a product before putting it into real production, and sometimes that means paper launches.

But this looks like a clever idea and it doesn’t appear to fall at all far out of the realm of possibility for KelTec’s engineering and manufacturing capabilities. Fingers crossed, we may in time see something come from this early leak.

Another great example of a cool idea assembled like an airsoft gun from keltec.

Pretty much, but then many plastic fantastic guns are like that these days.

Needs more rails! Or at least a rear sight mount at the rear of the gun for better sight radius

Kel-tec always brings the WTF. Weirdest business plan. The owner has to be an engineer and just likes to solve his own puzzles. Shooters and market research be damned.

They could have simply made the CMR30 in 5.7 take Ruger 5.7 mags and killed it. Can you say MP7 for the people? I'll take 2 please. SIMPLE. But no, lets design another pointless toy, create an entire new production line make 1000 and then close it down for the next random idea.

Oh and make sure to make it completely useless with the mag catch in the beavertail and rear charger so no one can slap a brace on it and make it somewhat useful. Suppressors? What? Lol, no. If you want quiet, useful guns you can fawk right off. If the plan was to actually use the gun I would have a done a non-recip folding charging handle upfront, and a top "pinch" to release the mag "cover". +1000% airsoft boner points and frees up the rear for a brace.

5.7? People who kill people everyday as their job use it. They could use ANYTHING they want, hell even have something new designed. Their tactics have adapted.

I genuinely like my KS7. 12g recoil is entirely up to you. I use low recoil for 99% of tasks. Love it. 3" yote/turkey loads suck out of any gun, but other than a few shots for patterning I don't shoot many. (I don't shoot 3.5" period. I did once...)
