Funny story. 3 or 4 of us truckers stopped at rest area on I-81 in Va. A fellow having car troubles was asking for info about a repair shop. I asked him where and which way he was headed. Going to DC and the White House. Told him to say hello to Uncle Jimmy for me. Didn't miss a beat saying "I wll'. Gave him a name and went on up the road.

Grandpa met him at his peanut farm, likely in the '80s, drove up to the two of them on a tractor, made a joke about being the cheapest help the farm had.

As for President, one this country's worst. As for the man himself, I cannot find fault in his character. I think his heart has always been in the right place. I don't think as though he thought of himself higher or better than anyone else. Just a common man and lived a down to earth life.

In 1982 during the World's fair in Knoxville Tn Carter and Reagan were making an appearance together. I made the comment "who would want to see that idiot Jimmy Carter". Dad grabbed me by the arm and turned me around and said, "We may not agree with him. We may not like the things he has done but, He was the President of the United States and that young man is enough for you to show some respect". I'll never forget that day.

Isnt that like a king granting us the right to do something?

It shouldnt have been illegal in the first place. To many politicians for to long legislating everything they can as there career everyday for a couple hundred years.

I've read that it was just the opposite. He wanted us out of Nam and the money boys plus te CIA was innit too. IDK what to believe about any of the conspiracy theories of the Kennedy clan. I think Bobby was a bonafide dick zealot and Teddy a drunken male slut. JFK did have better taste in the wimens tho.

Members here seem to have this outrage over cheaters, but somehow JFK gets a pass. I never understood.

I’ve heard people speculate that JFK wasn’t going to get us into Vietnam, but all that I’ve read, came from people who adored him and didn’t want to tarnish his fucked up reputation. His action showed he wanted us in Vietnam.

And don’t forget… The Bay of Pigs. JFK gets a lot of credit for the Cuban missile crisis. The Cuban missile crisis occurred because he left the soldiers at the Bay of Pigs out to die. He made this country look weak, and in doing so almost got the whole world into a nuclear war.

He was a piece of shit.

Carter started the department of energy after the Muslim Arab oil embargo ,
To ensure that the US wasn’t dependent on other countries for energy .

How much money has that department spent over the years and we are still dependent on Arab countries for our oil , FIFTY YEARS later .

My father worked for the state when Carter got elected governor,
Before carter , the state couldn’t tell you how many vehicles the state owned.

When carter got done , my father was getting calls wanting to know why the dump truck #389 on the state park where he was the manager only got 6 mpg .

The Kennedy's were/are really bad; no argument. Like bootlegger daddy-o bankrolling Johnny's political career, including actively sabotaging his opponents.

But the Clinton's - especially you-know-who - are arguably worse. Perhaps as a result of emboldenment. For example, Teddie Boy got away with killing Mary Jo, but AFAWK no large-scale suiciding. Plus everything else.

The MMM is complicit. too. They got used to hiding uncomfortable truths such as JFK's trysts and eventually went whole hog with the Clinton's (and onwards).

I think that's just the difference between what you could get away with then vs now. Swamp creatures behave as badly as they can get away with.
 
Don’t forget that the Clintons got so much power by helping Reagan’s intelligence agencies explode the drug crisis in South Central. Reagan has a massive pile of fuckups to his credit.

For all of Kennedy’s fuckups, at least he was at war with the CIA.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — According to sources, Vice President Kamala Harris became distraught this weekend after discovering that the president admitted to hospice was only Jimmy Carter. Harris, who has been waiting patiently for Joe Biden to die, fought back tears of disappointment when she discovered the current sitting president was alive and well, albeit in Ukraine.
Harris reportedly spent $200 on a flower arrangement for Biden's bedside that she now has no use for.
"President Carter is 98 years old, which means he is almost dead," Harris explained upon hearing the news. "That is 18 years older than President Biden. That is old. Old people die. Die starts with the letter 'D.' Biden is still alive. HA HA HA HA HEE HEE HEE HO HO!"
Kamala then broke down crying as her hopes of being President were dashed once again.
At publishing time, Harris put in a call to Putin and strongly hinted that now would be a great time to bomb Kyiv.
