He wasn't the worst president by a long, long shot. The idols of the left (Wilson, FDR, LBJ) were far more damaging to the nation. Carter inherited the effects of the shitty policies of his predecessors, and his own policies didn't help, but at least he didn't hate the country or tried to fundamentally transform it.

I would happily take 1970s Carter as president instead of the current yahoos.

Name one thing Carter did that was good for this nation :confused: He was and is a socialist piece of shit and one of the worst presidents of this country's history,

The link I posted has examples one would not expect from a democrat president. Even most modern republicans would not have the balls to do that kind of de-regulation.
 
I would go further - Obama (who was a piker compared to Wilson, FDR and LBJ) was far more damaging to the nation than Carter.

Not only Obama thought the US was a negative force in the world and wanted to fundamentally transform it, he put into high gear the identity politics/intersectional/woke wave we are in the middle of now. What did Carter ever do that approached this level of destruction?
 
Carter was a decent honest human being. Unfortunately he was seen as a weak president and the rest of the world walked all over him. His heart was in the right place even if some of his polices weren't. We could only hope for such a president after the current catastrophe.

He was the start of making us look weak.

52 Americans employed by the strongest nation on Earth were held against their will by a shit hole.

Some Iranians should have died over this but they didn’t. Weak as President.
After Vietnam this could have made a statement but no that peanut farmer set on his nuts. Pun intended.
 
The bag he carried onto AF1that holds a suit was empty. Just a PR stunt.
Established a most vile department, save the EPA, Dept. of Education. A cabinet position. Look what that has done to the schools.
His display at the US Naval Acadamy is very small. Says something about a grad becoming the prez. Roger Staubachs is much bigger.
Funny story. 3 or 4 of us truckers stopped at rest area on I-81 in Va. A fellow having car troubles was asking for info about a repair shop. I asked him where and which way he was headed. Going to DC and the White House. Told him to say hello to Uncle Jimmy for me. Didn't miss a beat saying "I wll'. Gave him a name and went on up the road.
Should have been content as gov of Ga.

They just renamed a building for him at the USNA a couple days ago. It had been named after a Confederate.
 
I agree that Jimmy Carter is a nice man. I agree that the work that he has done in his later life with Habitat for Humanity is wonderful. But he was an awful president. By current retrospective, no longer the worst but certainly one of the worst.

I was in the military during Carter's term as president and the morale in the military was in the toilet. We had briefings about how the Soviets had us in terms of offensive capability in Western Europe and they were fully expecting a Christmas Day invasion. Part of the chagrin was that it was felt the only thing that we could do to stop it would be to use nukes.

And then there is the economy. The economy was a disaster. Interest rates were so high that no one could afford a new home and the prices of new homes by today's standards was quite low. Money market funds or paying 20% interest on your savings. How high or how bad does inflation have to be for banks to be paying 20%?

Carter also did other things that made us look weak. Like wearing a sweater instead of a suit and tie. The world was much more formal than than it is today and that was seen as a disgrace.

Lastly, of course the hostage situation. The Iranians s*** all over him and the coup de gras was how they were released right after the inauguration of his replacement.

Unfortunately Ronny came with Nancy. The war she started cost us more money and freedoms than Carters misguided attempts at government.

Lincoln was the worst president.
Nothing but A war criminal who unilaterally redefined the country in a manner completely contrary to the founding fathers

Actually, they did that while he was still there, right after they re installed all the AC/ Heating that they had just removed. The solar crap they installed did not work but they left all the visible stuff in place so we would think it was. Smoke and mirrors.
