Very interesting 1960s documentary. Jesse Owens makes for a surprisingly good narrator (how many modern athletes can do as well as he?).

The story of Jesse Owens and Luz Long is inspirational, before and after WWII.
this is what winning is

He achieved international fame at the 1936 Summer Olympics in Berlin, Germany, by winning four gold medals: 100 meters, long jump, 200 meters, and 4 × 100-meter relay. He was the most successful athlete at the Games and, as a black American man, was credited with "single-handedly crushing Hitler's myth of Aryan supremacy"

Yes, it is a beautiful story. Joe Louis and Max Schmeling also developed an unlikely friendship at about the same time.

We read about Jesse Owens in school with my class granted at a sixth grade level.

That guy was amazing, both athletically and just as a person. THIS is the type of person that kids should be reading about. Not some Marxist ahole.

The shit he and a Jackie Robinson went through is nothing compared to 99.9% of minorities today of any race.

Eviltwit is not happy with this thread…..

He’s with Greta and the Hillary in the rubber room about now!!!!!!
