Came across one of these things the other day. Neat idea, faster than setting up jackstands and safer than than no jackstands. Is it safer than jackstands? I dont know, the jack is on wheels so It can still move.

Pretty slick

How many times has your jack failed vs shifted into a sketchy position that could drop the vehicle?
Leak down a little and lose my alignment on something when prototyping but I can't sacrifice the jack itself for too much duration on most things. This item seems like a solution that is looking for a problem to fix.

I think the purpose is as a safety, in case a seal blows.

Funny, I've actually though about modding my 3-ton to add a ratchet safety, like ATV jacks have. Once it goes up, you've got to pull the white bar to lower it.

No, I haven't had a catastrophic jack failure. I also haven't been in a gun fight or a house fire...

i fail to see how its faster then jack stands, you would have to lay on the ground and crawl under the vehicle to install it in many situations, i can get on one knee and slide a jack stand under

Another way to look at it is jacking up a vehicle only requires finding one good spot to lift by.

I find often the place where I want to put my jackstands is the same place I put the jack (or the jack interferes with where I want to put the stands, like the jack is too close), working on things that are a pain in the ass like minivans.

Note that I'm not saying the OP gizmo is good or not, just stating an observation.

I think the scenarios where it would be the most useful is if you just remove 1 wheel at a time. Lets say you're going to slap some pads on a car real quick - jack up LF, pull tire and slap pads on and lower it down then go to right side. Or lets say you work at a tire shop, customer comes in with a nail in 1 tire. So much easier to lift it at one spot and slip this thing on the jack. A lot of cars have one little 4" spot as a lifting point on each corner, unlike a truck with a big steel frame where you can put a jack pretty much anywhere.

I agree the price is a bit high, but I think this company is geared towards selling tools to dealerships and dealer techs (thats how I found out about them).

That all in one bottle jack looks pretty bitchin, and probably more compact than a floor jack

Imo I could see the jack stand/bottle jack version much more useful. I tend to run into the jack and jackstand space conflict most often when removing transmissions, so I'm under the vehicle anyway.

I leave this in my truck toolbox. Awesome when I'm traveling and space is a premium. It'll lift high and is frankly amazing.

Give me one of those that’s pneumatic, and lifts 8” - 28”. I’d pay $500 for it.

Nice, been looking for a new tuck jack as my
Oem one is missing. I will give one of those a try.

What's the fancy word for the bottle jack with the two stage concentric cylinder that everyone was window shopping a few months ago?

I tried searching "two stage jack" and nothing came up.

Having to jack up the vehicle more and then reach under there to get a stupid arm out is exactly what I want to be doing when the vehicle is barely on the jack.
