Is this an oil bath hub?

I'm slowly going through this old trailer that I use to haul airplane carcasses. I've hauled airplanes all over the country with it and it's worked great, but it probably needs a bit of maintenance. I just put a new deck on it, probably tires next week, but these hubs haven't been touched since I bought it.

I've serviced a bunch of standard grease packed trailer axles, but never had one apart like this. Are they oil bath? I haven't noticed a fill plug, but I haven't looked real close. They have brakes that haven't worked since I got it. Most of the loads on it are less than 2,000 lbs so it doesn't necessarily need them, but I may explore getting them up and running too.

Grease is the word. I just built a RZR trailer with similar hubs.

Thanks guys. I'll probably open it up for a look next week or so.

So you hauled airplanes all over the country and never once greased the hubs? I'm curious to see what the bearings look like once you open them up.
You and me both.

Never saw any evidence of a leak. They never even felt warm when I’d stop anywhere. It’s just been one of those “I should take a look at that one of these days” type of things. It is now “one of these days” so I’ll take a look.

If I find anything interesting, I’ll share it here, not too concerned though.

Gary Busey voice/ my daddy was in maintenance, he said if it ain't broke then don't fix it. /end Gary Busey voice.
It never blew up, so I figure my preventative maintenance was about spot on. I may open it up and change my mind though.

I get nervous about doing stuff like that, knowing that it is going to fail after I got done fixing it .
It's a fine line to walk for sure.
Like woman.... The more you pay attention to them the more work they become. Pay very little attention to them and they never need work.
until they do, then they may not be worth fixing.

iirc the al-ko hubs had screw on caps like that

don't break anything taking it apart because parts are entirely unavailable
