No not you .... actual tools :flipoff2:

I've had a dozen or so of you ask bout getting tools in the Parts Counter and I'd like to start carrying some.

So what brands would be ... buyable for you guys? I'm not talking high end Snap-on type lines, good reasonable priced stuff.

I met up with the Boxo guys at KoH and was super impressed. Racers, crews and people were buying kits so fast it was like water in the dessert. Nice stuff.

The snail trail guys talk about GearWrench quite a bit.

so ... talk to me Goose

The Neiko setup I bought is solid. /shrug

And my torque wrenches and 1/4 drive setup is Tekton. no complaints.

+1 for Gearwrench
I have been using TEKTON tools with good success. They supposedly have a really good return policy. Feel pretty nice in the hands and no issues so far with them.

Maybe a tough ideas to implement/manage, but... It would be cool if you had a way to search things based on the project. Like if I search d60 and a hub socket and snap ring pliers show up. Sometimes you don't know what you need until you need it.

impressed with Tekton and Gearwrench, the rest of my hand tools are crapsman/kobalt/horror freight, so dont judge too harshly...

what about some fabrication tool vendors? no brand loyalty on my part here

I'm officially a cheap bastard; so how about Harbor Freight? 🤷‍♂️

This would make a good bundle for the manufacturer to assemble. just like a "race kit" they could have a "job kit"...

Aside from brands it'd be cool to know what the general opinions were as far as "tools to own". I've been trying to decide between a dry-cut chop saw and a band-saw (leaning toward Evolution dry-cut saw because of the speeds of the cuts and I like my Milwaukee dry-cut circular saw).

Someone else posted about a bender and what CLR to buy in regards to dies. I guess the pattern here is informing some of us less experienced/equipped on what everyone is buying and then stocking that.

As my career has finally begun to flourish so has my bank account which means I've been buying a lot of tools lately. I've ended up with a JET variable speed bench-grinder, 15" General International drill press, looking at a Harbor Freight 20-ton press (and that SWAG press brake kit), and a Harbor Freight engine hoist (just to throw out some brands).

I think a lot of this shit is pretty standard for rig-building not to mention the Miller welder and plasma cutter that I already had.

Reselling swag tools is a great idea. I've had nothing but good experiences with their stuff.

One of Boxo's tool rolls with a special Irate design would be cool as shit

They already do it for KOH, so I'm sure they could entertain an irate version

I did see those there, they were cool as shit and flying off the shelves ... well ... pop-up tables.

If you follow them on IG they support several of U4 guys it seems to. Defiantly a company that supports the wheeling community which I like.

Tekton

Harbor Freight (valid 20% off coupons, at least....?)

DeWalt

Milwaukee

OTC

whatever else that sell special tools to work on axle and other stuff.

Can we talk about not actual tools, but still a "tool" to help on fixing stuff?
Such as Alldata, tuner, obd2 scantool, and more (not everyone on here driving leased trucks)

NWS, Wera, Felo, Knipex, Gedore

Pretty much rounds out my tool box stuff

BoxoUSA, what US about it other then the letters in the name. Not buying a slick packaged overseas special.

Wilde, Williams, Proto, ChannelLock, SK Tools, Bonny are all decent US made tools

is one of my favorite places to shop: HJE Home American Made

SK tools might not be the case anymore, pending some news of them getting bought out.

I'm sure this community would have to grow some more for them to take notice, but Snap-On? Aim high, Austin!
They already offer deep discounts to students enrolled in trade programs, could red skull purchase count as 'enrollment' in Irate U? I mean, aren't we all learning here?

Well, some of us anyway...

X_whatever on Gearwrench and Milwaukee.
Lincoln welding products and Theremodyne.

Bluedriver Bluetooth scan tool. Already relatively cheap for no subscription. Anyone with a 1996 and newer vehicle and a smartphone should have one in their glovebox.

Malco. They are building Snap-On's locking pliers now. Build their shit in Nebraska. Our local snappy driver wouldn't carry their former locking pliers cuz they were shit. I bought a couple of promos when they switched their supplier and DAMN! No more yard sale searching for old US made Vise-Grips! If their other products are that good I may have to bypass Snappy and get some more of their stuff.

Oh sweet will check them out. I finally got some grip pliers from NWS and they are very good and a couple from Gedore which are excellent. I tired a bunch of Grip-on which made Snap-on at one point. They sorta work but not really, come out of Spain. Tried a couple Knipex version and they are better then the Grip-On but not close to the NWS or Gedore's.

Grey Pneumatic

They are right with MAC and Snap-on quality without the markup. Full sets all rated for impact use.
Impact wiggle sockets hold very well, those never live an easy life.

As of the order I received last week, the SK tools are still marked made in USA. I hope that doesn't change.

Austin, If you could get a section of made in USA tools, I would be onboard for buying some more tools that I may or may not even need.:flipoff2:

Also maybe Viking drill bits based on the post in CC on quality bits.

Another +1 on tekton. Bought a couple of impact sets after seeing them recommended here. I’m pleased with them so far.

by far my best ever vice grip. they lock and wont open...and the eye for the tightening fits a flat head screw driver so you can tigheten it further once its been locked on

The new Milwaukee have a similar design of the tension screw, but no lock lever. How much are they? The link don't give a price and too lazy to google:flipoff2:

I have the new Milwaukee, like them for the price, but the Snap-On/Malco ones beat everything I've seen in decades if you're talking ability to grip. I may try the Stanley's. If you say they're good, I believe you, but it might be the first thing that's worth AF with their name on it that's been decent for years. Probably built by a better company with their name slapped on it.

Edit: looking at that link again, I think it's telling that the length lasered on the side is already bigger than what the website claims it is. The tool tells me it's 10 inches, but it's really only 9.5? Geez, I sound like a woman now...
