What's new

Introduce your self here!

So this is where all the cool kids hang out now?

My name is Tim and I've been into Suzuki's for a little over 20 years.... I had some friends with samurai's and always thought they were cool, I was given a Tracker around 2001 and I bought my samurai in 2002 for $500.... It had 60k miles on it and had never even ben put in 4 wheel drive but had a rod knock.... I swapped the engine from the Tracker in it and the rest is history....lol

It now has a 16v 1.6L
6.5 Transfer case gears
stock front axle with 5.13 gears
Track/Kick rear axle
Calmini shackle reversal with 3" springs SPUA up front
YJ springs SPOA in the rear
stretched 10" in the rear
RCI 17 gallon fuel cell

Currently going under the Knife for axle swap to Chevy Dana 44 front and 10 Bolt rear
The front will be stretched as well

My name is Josiah and I've had a few built samis over the years as well as yotas and fullsizes. My last sami was a stretched tin top and I'm currently building a 88 soft top.

Hi guys! I stumbled onto this site and had to join. I still own Blueballs, but hasn't seen any action in a while. I moved my family from Hawaii to Whidbey Island, WA and looking forward to wheeling the trails out here.

good to have you!

Don’t guess I ever “introduced” myself on this site. Was on the old site for a long time, albeit under a different username. I did the tracker thing for a long time, have a pic of the last one (black on 33’s). Finally found a sami (gray one) and it was a little too nice to cut up. Then found a rough sami to build a crawler out of (blue one), but the wife decided she needed her own, so it’s undergoing a resto to be nicer than mine. Already replaced the whole floorpan.

Maybe one day I’ll find the right one to build the beater I want.

I still mess with trackers some, but mostly buy stock cheap, lift cheap, and flip them for a profit, like the purple one (bought for $800. Slapped on spacers, cut fenders, and added used 31’s. Sold for $3000)

I always loved that sami.

My name is Richard, and this is my 88.5 I call "Samurai Futaba" When I bought it a few weeks ago.

Futaba was the name of John Belushi's Samurai character on Saturday night live.
I didn't know he even had a name ... but the point is he did everything , right? Bell hop ,Tailor ,Dry cleaner ,optometrist ... you get the point ...I will build this out to use on the ranch and I want it to do everything well so no extreme mods planned ( looking at you GT1guy ) it hadn't run in 4 years and was sitting in the rain with no keys ,shifter busted on tranny and t-case , no battery etc.
got it running and driving over the course of a week and am just playing with it now to see what other weak links it has . Took bumper off as it was rubbing tire on full lock ... plan to build winch bumper soon .

From Western Canada. Have owned for 11 or so years, a 1993 (I think?) white 4dr Sidekick. Engine swap/street performance plans for it (yeah, I know, off topic if not a little..weird..lol), but I got delayed. Mostly, I got caught up with relationship, work and living arrangement/location issues.
Can kind of see the light at the end of the tunnel there. An inheritance helped. Speaking of which, I remember going as a 6 or so year old with my dad for him to test drive a white LJ80. So kind of a circle of life thing.

Also seeing a 2nd gen as a prime choice for daily driver/commuter. So if you see or have a 03-05 GV with really nice body and interior, in the western half of Canada, I'm game w/cash on hand!

Glad to take any business away from Autoguide and their left wing zealots, so here I am. I also left Yellowbullet for PhantomBullet.

I was on the other forum for a number of years, often in the tool forums, Zuki and in the general builds forums. Bought a transmission out of the classifieds.

I get bored with vehicles easily, but current toy is a 1994 Tracker Lsi. Originally was looking for an older SxS, but those are still more expensive than they’re worth. Sidekicks/Trackers are pretty much the same size, and they have the bonus of being street legal. This one is pretty stock, with only a 2” lift and some meatier tires. It works well as RV dinghy, beach cruiser and will see some ORV park training for the kids this year. Kind of underpowered, but still a lot of fun to drive - may keep this one for awhile.

obligatory sad driveway shot, since it hasn’t moved in a few months.

Used to be on the old board 10-15yrs ago and had a sh1tbox toyota crawler with lots of booty fab (i was poor). Had a tintop as a DD for a bit, but recently started working on this. Came with the SPOA and TT crossover steering done. I've added a 3K carb, rebuilt the trans, new 235/75R15's, sprayed over the sht1t camo job with a slightly better one and swapped a SJ410 grille on.

Currently awaiting a power steering install (track kick box with TC pump) and have some 4.16's to install when i get time.

Gonna stay pretty mild since the budget for this build is pretty small :(

From North Alabama. 1994 Geo Tracker 2" spring spacer lift. 235 75 15 and a lead foot. Also a 2008 chevrolet hhr soon to be 4x4 with Tracker drive train. I'll try to collet more pictures of the project.

Long time lurker from Pirate to here. No real experience in automotive fab work...but constantly learning thanks to you hacks.

We got tired of dealing with carburetors at the hunt camp...so got this. 02 Tracker ZR2...rust bucket from NY. Likely didn't pass inspection due to rust...but turns out these things make perfect hunt camp vehicles. Added lift, tires, lights, etc.; delete doors to make substitute cheap SxS.

This one is going to stay mild...but I'd like to pick up another and start messing with drivetrains...

From the Los Angeles area
‘87 zuk on propane
Toyota front axle
Rock assault rear Toyota axle
6.5 t case gears
YJ springs
35” Goodyear take offs from the new broncos

About to bend up a minimal cage for it and really considering a 10-12” stretch and links with some air shocks. I’d like to do something similar with a truck style bed like they did on dirt everyday.

This is the seat time car while the long term project sits on jackstands.
