Hey, anyone know anything about these? Found a guy moving, and bought a snap on clock from him. Asked if he had anything else for sale, and he said this rifle. Bolt action 30-06, according to the web, its a mini mauser?

Zastava Arms began making their M70 sporting rifles based on the M24 (FN M1924) in the post-war period but while they were under communist control, in what was by then named Yugoslavia, we did not see these rifles being sold under the Zastava Arms name. In places like Britain, Europe, Australia and New Zealand the rifles were sold under the “Whitworth” name or were sold as “Mark X”. For the United States and Canada the rifles were mostly imported by Interarms and sold as the Interarms Mark X.

I’ve got one in .375 h&h. Love it. Nice Mauser action. Safari sights.

They were a decent commercial Mauser action based on the M98. They make a decent deer rifle.

If that action is based on a Yugo M24 it is a little different than a standard military 98 action. It has the large ring, ie receiver diameter in common but is a fraction shorter in overall length and between the action screws. In between a large ring and an older short ring. Might matter if it was to be re-stocked. Anyone actually have an Interams like the one in question besides 9659 in the obscure .223 cartridge ?

Mines a magnum action. It’s my deer rifle in Iowa. A little overkill but better than .350 legend.

Had one just like that. 30-06. Beautiful rifle but that super thin pencil barrel will drive you nuts on the range. I used mine at one of the M&Gs out to 800 yards with 168s. a foot high at 100 was dead on at 500 and two feet high at 100 was pretty much on at 800.

Oh, and based off the 98. Large ring.
