Hydro cylinder size and steering stops?

So about a year ago I installed a PSC 1.5x6 hydro ram on my front axle. Prior to installing it, my steering stops were all the way in and I had a really good turning radius. After installing the ram, the ram would max out way before it made contact with any of the stops. So now I am runnign it with the stops adjusted all the way out. My turning radius is still ok but it sucks in comparison. And really sucks in parking lots.

Does not look like anyone makes a 7" ram and I am guessing an 8" might be too much. Just wondering what other people are running and if they had this issue as well?

For reference, I am on a diamond housing, factory SFA knuckles, RCV 30spline outers.

8" ram with stops inside.

I got some shaft collars off Amazon, broke the ram down and added them to the ram and use the ram as my steering stop now. I can't remember what they are set at. You will either need to make or buy a gland wrench for the ram, honestly busting the cap off without fucking the ram up was the hardest part.

I've seen people with pieces of thick dom tube slid over the ram shaft on the outside as stops. Either way you are using the cap as the steering stop so why pull it apart to accomplish the same thing?

PSC makes a 6.75" that's what I use on my Super Duty 60, or as mentioned add stops. I added an extrernal stop on an 8" like SLOWPOKE mentioned above except I used some Delrin Rod. Tearing into the ram is easy as well to add the necessary stops.

I put mine on the inside so it wasn't packing mud and shit against the wiper seal, but if OP lives on the west coast probably not a concern.

What cylinder are you running? Do you have the amazon link by any chance?

PSC will also make you a custom length throw ram w/ an internal stop if you dont feel like messing w/ it. I needed a 9.75" throw for my fzj80, i had them put a .25" spacer in a 10" ram and they sent it to me ready to bolt up.

Have a 1.5-2 inch inside diameter cylinder that has about a 6/7 inch travel PM for pics.
