How to make a 14B SRW housing wider from WMS to WMS without changing the housing. Also how long are axles from say a 83 gm 14B FF SRW axles? Thanks

Farther offset hubs.

Standard srw 14bff from 73-late 90s are 67.5

Van axles are 70
drw axles are 72
drw + srw make 77ish
Steel drw adapter from a unit bearing gm are pretty cheap and best overall for a spacer situation

How wide do you want to go.
How much are you willing to spend.

sorry but the best answer is to change the housing to a DRW, its about 72" wms and if you want it wider you can put your current hubs on it to make it about 76" wms

its a better housing with a thicker center section casting and thicker wall axle tubes

OK now my current 14B has the gears and a grizzly locker in it still and have the spring perches, shock mounts and bump pads in correct plate. I am running 2" wheel spacers currently but I want to get it wider than that. So If I find a 90's 14B FF from a DRW i can swap my hubs gears and locker onto it to make it wider than the DRW BUT can I run the stock DRW axle shafts?

Thanks

yes

OK Posted a Wanted ad looking for a wider DRW housing. Will get it clean it up and I have the files for stuff on my CNC plasma that i can weld on the new housing and swap the internal parts over to it. Thanks for the quick replys like the older Pirate days. Lol

Curious, why trying to make it wider? To eliminate the wheel spacers.

The axle is in a prerunner truck 01 silverado and the front end is wider than stock and rear with fiberglass bedsides needs to be wider to fill the fenders and be closer to match the trackwidth

Ahhh, makes sense. So used to the rock crawlers on here, wasn’t thinking of the pre-runners.

yeah i know rock crawlers know the 14 Bolt 10000000x better than the desert forum guys so i asked here. Thanks for all the help just need to find a housing OR machine a lineup bar jigs to work with my existing 1.25" line up bar for 9in fixture i have

Ok I got some axles and alignment jigs to retube this axle the exact width I want it to be to have the tires tuck perfectly under the fiberglass bedsides. Will create a thread when I get to that stage

Tell me more. I have H1 wheels that I'm not looking to recenter

I had a set like this that were "western hauler" i scalped off a ford in the junk yard. Arrow craft has been making drw swap stuff for 40? Years.

That being said i did some pretty stupid shit with my truck and did wind up with a bent spindle or tube at the far end. Did these add to it? Idk. I dropped the ass of my truck from maybe 5' repeatedly.
