How to Detect Trackers?

Back in the 80's, didn't nerds build something with a magnet, speaker & battery to pick up whatever feedback/frequency? I can't remember what/where/how-
That would only pick up whatever frequency your antenna \coil was tuned or sympathetic to.

Assuming you're looking for a cellular signal from a tracking device there's like a dozen bands, and all of those have thousands of possible frequencies and they're constantly changing so everything can coexist in the band.

So you need some sort of broad spectrum monitoring ability and a software defined radio it's the cheapest\best option.

You would think that should be the case but it doesn't really matter, "higher class" employees will goof off just the same.

I worked for the orange box equipment division, rental division had been using Samsara for a couple of years. They implemented no phone calls while driving, no exceptions. Every meeting for 3 weeks it was talked about the addition of Samsara for equipment division, boss said keep your nose clean. Well following week 1 tech rear ended somebody and caused a 3 car pile up, 2 techs in Ohio got caught hot boxing on duty, and another caught taking his children to school on the clock.

Now they have Samsara nagging at them all the time. Following closer than 3 seconds, nag - speeding 5 over or doing over 70, nag - Touch your phone, call from your manager with 1 warning if his boss didn't catch it, otherwise your gone. His workload went up considerably.

This was a good job with a lot of freedom, paid door to door, good bennies, company van kept at your house, and fairly easy work. The few always seem to ruin it for the rest.
This right here. Had a job working for a small company. Gas card, drove the van home nightly, allowed to stop at the store for errands on the way home after work. The vans were heavily logoed and we were told ground rules. No shopping at the competitor while using the van or wearing company clothes. No restaurant or bar use. No driving to gatherings/BBQ/Parties. And that was about it. Job paid great with great benefits. However the owner was a verbally abusive asshole and you’re whole goal was to not get yelled at for doing nothing wrong. Anyways one employee got caught selling weed using the van. By the next monday we were all told to start our day at the shop. Everyone got a briefing about how trackers were needed, no more use of the van for anything but work period. You could sign the form, get a $200 bonus for signing and agreeing to the new terms of use. Or they would call you a cab and send you home.

1 shit bird fucked it up for everyone.

I've found them on the backside of the glove box.
Work truck ones are just plugged into obd. We like to remove just to see how long it takes to get a phone call from fleet asking if something is wrong.
The one in my work truck fell
Out and hit the floor hard enough that about ten seconds D’s later I got a calm fro

The fleet manager asking if I was alright .

“Huh ?”

“I just got a notice that you crashed “

I left it dangling and about once a day I kick it hard when I got in just to send the crashed signal .

Same bunch of shut heads that used to give me grief about my 100% throttle and my hard braking and
My high idle time etc

“Hi, this is bob in fleet services , uh, did you leave your truck running all night last night on purpose ?”

“Yeah. I did . While you were at home sleeping in a bed I was in the god damn truck at a jobsite working , any other questions?”

“Uh, yeah , the fleet average is 12 mpg and yours is 8 mpg , what’s up with that ?”

“It gets 8 when I tow a trailer , you know , the ones we haul the bobcats and mini excavators on ?”

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Man you got a dumb as rocks boss.

The only person that's not gonna stop is the weed dealer. He just texts his customers and tells them where to meet him. Jobsites, McDonalds, gas stations, all the places the van is "supposed" to be.
