I have some Fan Powered HEPA filters that are New Old Stock, and the internal insulation/ foam has turned to garbage. It just Disintegrates when you touch it leaving just the sticky adhesive on the frame. I can scrape the foam out, but nothing touches the adhesive.

I have A hard time just tossing them, because for some reason I still see some value. So Before throwing them away I figured I’d ask if anyone has any idea or way to salvage these?

Acetone? Work small areas, wet it down and scrape with a taping knife.

3M Citrus Based Adhesive Remover. 18.5 Aersol can Black and Blue colored. I buy it on Amazon, you will get sticker shock when you see it, but it would work perfect for what you are doing and a little goes a long way. I am sure there are other non 3M alternatives.

right now, i am having my best result with PB Blaster and going back with a razor blade.

It kinda sucks, but it seems to work
