Just curious. How many in your fleet?

Wife is giving me a little bit of crap with 5 vehicles in our possession now. They all have a purpose, though. :grinpimp:

It is getting tricky keeping them all moving periodically. Hopped in the truck Friday and it was a hard start. Should probably start pulling battery cables...

Superduty daily
crewcab fun and snowing days
smurfaru gf daily

Tahoe will run daily with a battery
Dodge will run and move with battiers but needs major work.
C60 needs about 400hrs and $5000 to complete

Cj has axles, motor, trans, tcases, steering box, coil springs and a tub/windshield/grill and thats it. No frame or suspension, no insides or wiring, no a lot of things.

Wife has her own truck

All titled in my name:

3 - driving, registered, insured

3- driving, not insured or registered

2- complete, non running, couple days worth of work to get going again

5- various states of repair or tear down

2 legal trailers too

In business name

4- going to an auction or sold in the next week, rinse and repeat

Everything I own is useful

My 2014 Ram 1500 Sport crew cab (my DD)
Wifes 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee
My YJ. Not the most street friendly but I could commute in it if I had to
32’ Class C RV. Again, could commute with it if I absolutely had to

did also have a 71 Charger but I sold that in preparation for the move as I didn’t want to pay to ship it.
selling my 2000 Suzuki Hayabusa for similar reasons as well as the fact it hasn’t been ridden in about 8 years.

so down to 4

Wife has an acura mdx. Luxury jellybean, good running order.
I daily an 01 f350, with rotten fenders and box. The flatdeck is built, just needs paint and installation.
Just dropped the auto trans out of the 4runner yesterday, but it was functional, despite scary noises from the trans:laughing:.
Dirtbike is torn apart in the backyard, parts on order.
pathblocker works, but needs brakes and tires. I have tires, but fuck a Nissan.
2nd gen toy has no flywheel or clutch, or clutch slave, and I just cut the front clip off.

So...2.

5.

2016 Jeep Patriot (wifes car)
2003 Duraturd (tow pig)
1998 TJ (wheeler, not street legal but plated and insured)
1992 Plymouth sundance (dd)
1975 Cherokee family wheeler

All run and drive just fine. All have current tabs and insurance.

1 outta 3 at the moment.

Dodge runs, drives, steers, stops, and hopefully stays that way.

4runner runs and can move under it's own power, but not road/trail worthy yet. Or ever at the rate I'm going.

Satellite will run off a jerry can, but has a bunch of suspension bits removed at the moment and needs a pile of work before I can even thinking about burning the tires off it.

2015 outback for the wife
2018 F150 for me
1971 Bronco toy but still plated and driven

So 3 and 3

Two with current registration and insurance, one without and two not running.

Three for me:

2015 Accord LX - daily, insured and tagged
2001 Miata - was in storage mode, now full coverage - tags are kept current (summer driver only)
2012 Ninja 650 - not registered/tagged at present time - goal is to remedy that and ride it a lot this summer season

Wife only has her ‘20 CRV - she likes it, her last car she kept for 10 years so I see this one sticking around for a few...

Earlier this year I briefly owned 2006 Jeep Liberty that I fixed up and sold.

Depends on what standard you use...

5 running, driving and registered - 2 cars (DD for wife & I), DRW service truck for towing, fueling equipment, etc. SRW pickup (can't pull GN trailer or haul much in the bed of the DRW, so need a real pickup), and the semi/lowbed for heavy haul service.

Got another car, pickup, 1 ton dump truck and my crane truck that are running and usable but either not registered or not completely street worthy (missing hood latch / exhaust, lights don't work, etc). Several trailers, tractors, etc.

All have a purpose, though we've got a fair bit of redundancy. However, in several cases that's because one is an older rig I don't want to risk getting salty or in a wreck, so we have another to drive most of the time.

4+a motorcycle.

15 highlander (wife's)
11 F-350 (mostly sits)
07 Camry (DD)
97 F-350 dump truck (probably needs plugged in or new batteries bit will drive)

Only two that don't run and drive
68 Monterey needs a carb rebuild and battery charge
71 F-250 completely torn apart getting new floors right now.

6 running:
2019 F150
1995 F350
1987 Toyota p/u
2018 Ram promaster work van
1992 Harley FLHS
1981 Harley FXS

Not running:
1960 VW Bug, ready for restore, sitting in primer

2 and they're both lowered 2 wheel drive toyota trucks. Both can be daily driven and haul whatever I need moved.

14 Jetta tdi is my daily
17 Ford Escape is my wife's
02 F350 (single wheel) weekend cruiser
20 Polaris Ranger 1000
97 Easy-Go golf cart, aka urban sxs that gets driven more in town than the vehicles do

Battery disconnect switches are your friend.

I need to look into these.

I don’t feel so bad now. Looks like 4-6 is pretty normal...at least for this motley group.

My current DD has been the 91’ Geo Tracker, which I got and slapped together for winter wheeling...but it’s so much fun to drive.

The 1984 Bronco is waiting on Antique plates and we’ll be cruising that on nice days.

Wife’s 2010 Tahoe is her DD, already has rust, so is fine taking wherever long distance in the winter.

2009 Silverado is my DD/truck use that is also well broken into the salt.

2008 4Runner is the new vacation/camping/mild exploration vehicle.

The wife made a comment today that we’re “wealthy” because we have a vacation vehicle. I said, “Give me a fucking break, most people spend $100k on two new vehicles.” Shit, I don’t have even half that in everything I own.

2 of 4.

Running/driving/legal - 2 - f150 and sebring 4x4 Truck for truck shit/bad conditions and convertible for nice days/roadtrips.
Running - 1 - suburban in the middle of a bunch of crap it didn't need.
Just there until I figure out what I'm doing with it and get the other shit done - 1 - fairmont

Knowing your work ethic, current non wheeler status, and current relationship status you must be swimming in cash. :grinpimp:

Mebbe...

But I just got this driving tonight. Already about 2k deep in it.

My inventory is higher than I’d like it to be. I target keeping it under a dozen cars/ trucks on the property.

But the time to buy the auction deals is when you see them, and it’s not helping that my state has begun taking 6+ mos to turn a title due to the rona further hampering my flips.

6 registered & insured runner drivers;

wifes dd 14 accord sedan,
my dd 04 accord coupe 5spd,
01 suburban beater /work truck.
02 half ton errand truck,
02 2500hd 6.0 ton tow rig,
Just in the last 2 wks added an S class for a toy/Sunday driver ( may replace My honda as a dd til gas crests $4/gal )

I think some variant of this 5-6 is what I consider my minimum regular roster rotation.

7 running & driving but in some stage of repair/ recondition process ;

8.1/Allison 2500hd- replacement tow rig. Waiting on an exhaust in the mail ( came from auction bro-dozer straight piped)

02 Yukon XL- low mile replacement for suburban to fill in hauler/ errand work. needs bumper & alignment.

01 Avalon- bought as cheap alternate for wife - just completed sorting last week; probably will go up for sale .

04 Miata- bought on a whim with intent for kart project- ended up being too decent & easy to fix , & too small for me to comfortably drive longer than half an hr. bolted on a fender headlight & hood and she was good to go, but rona happened & title took 7 mos to process. will be listed in the coming weeks as spring convertible season hits

05 accord coupe- running driving parts car - was gonna put it on the road, but avalon & Benz came along and fulfill its intended role in the fleet rotation. will probably cannibalize it for dd recon and pass it on for parts or scrap.

98 Saab 9-3 manual - accidental bid/ win for $200 - buddy committed to buy it for demo/ enduro car but rona stalled that plan. Would scrap if scrap goes up.

96 roadmaster wagon - long term hot rod project. - Needs ball joint to be streetable, will eventually get a 5.3/turbo probably from my old burb as donor.

2x non-runner:

08 yukon ltz - bought at auction having been nosed into ditch. Some obscure computer/ anti theft issue prevents it from cranking (has had theft lock deactivated in HP tuners but it still doesn’t crank with key.) It’s 4th in line for attention.

03 Yukon xl - cranks intermittently, recurrent random misfire to point of undriveability. - has stumped 3 mechanics in as many years. Been at the 3rd mechanics for over 16 mos now. needs to be scrapped/ parted out. Out of sight, out of mind...

there’s also a boat , a few trailers, a few tractors etc in the runner driver mix.

hmm.
01 camry, DD
93 runner, runs and drives, waiting on shocks and paperwork.
88 toy pickup, crawler, runs and drives but body is demolished and in the middle of the worlds longest cage build.
95 trooper. runs and drives, barely. needs trans, is actually my sons first vehicle.

and the 1973 long bed hilux, does not run, is a project in garage, have everything new to make it run but fluids and driveshafts.

My fishing boat is ready to go...

6- And I could get into any one of them and get to the state line with nothing more than fuel.
2016 Chevy SS- Wife's Daily
2006 2500 Silverado Garage Queen, Sitting indoors on life support ready to go at a moments notice (Tow Rig)
2001 4 Runner- Back up car, Wife's under cover car (sons backup)
1997 4 Runner- My Daily- SASed, 37's locked, duals.
1995 Nissan 240sx- Sons Project / Daily, Right this second it runs, but goes under the knife periodically.
1985 4 Runner- Trail Truck- sitting on a trailer in the desert, but just got full service two months ago.

I do have the shell of a 240SX sitting in the side yard, but it's not really a car any more, Headed to scrap. unless someone wants it.

Does my boat count??

2005 22' Placecraft- HO 496 just did full service a month ago, ready to run.
