How hard is inflation going to hit, or has hit?

saw this on Marketplace and thought it was a joke...

Nope... right from the dealer's web page... USED 2020 4Runner... $69k.

they have some 2019's for a much more sensible price of mid-50's...

Makes the $4.75/lb hanging weight (including butchers fees) for a quarter or a half that we charge look REALLY good...
I just picked up our 1/4 beef this afternoon. Came out to $3.20/pound, that includes hanging weight price and processing.

With what was already in the freezer, we now have about 150 pounds of ground beef plus various steaks, stew meat, and ribs. We should be good for awhile.

That's a good price, it varies around here, but we charge $3.50 and the butcher gets $0.75 to kill, age it for 2 weeks, cut, wrap and vacuum pack it.

Wife just ordered groceries. Prices are way up, and they’re limiting how much one can order. White bread was $10.77 a loaf...all other bread was non-existent.

Going to get bad, real soon.

Wait what? There's always been fancy $6 loaf white bread, but most name brand basic sandwich bread is $2.75

Please give more details

if you read it a few times you'll see that they have their groceries delivered
as in something like schwans or coborns or something, so their prices are probably stupid inflated because "free delivery" or some such

Fancy Italian white bread probably $4.79 at Kroger, maybe $7.79 at fancy store in high cost state, then 25% upcharge for delivery...

He said ordered, not delivered. We order groceries every week and pick them up at Walmart

I suppose you're right
seems strange to me, but I don't have the foresight to do any of that sorta shit
I just wander and pick up what catches my eye which usually ain't much

kinda like my house, if I had a plan I'd be done by now, but I just pick away at it
1hr on, 30min sitting there trying to figure out what the fuck I'm doing, repeat

I'm sorry.
all I've got to offer was my mom trained me and my brother early that when she snapped her fingers we stopped everything and looked to see what she wanted
she did it again a couple years back at a funeral and sure enough, years later, halfway across the church, both of us immediately stop and look over

if it works for dogs, it works for children

I’m not joking guys. Walmart.com, cheap, garbage white bread.

Hang on for the ride.

Out of stock on all other bread, so the cheaper bread prices are pointless.

The bread aisles at our local grocery stores have been over half empty for the last month.

A good friend of mine is an agricultural chemical salesman and covers 1/3 of our state. He visits with farmers every day. He said that they have all told him to get some meat processed and put in the freezer, and start stockpiling canned goods because this fall food is going to spike hard on pricing, and become very hard to get.

Guess it's time to re the stock the 25lb rice & bean bags in the pantry. That and get another 2 flats of tomatoes. Great...

Count me in as not excited to try and eat survival food only for a while. At least in good at cooking.

We are going to go to Aldi's and buy flats of canned corn, beans, green beans, etc.

Has anyone else noticed that the gatorade sections in stores have been mostly empty the last few weeks?

Yes, it has been that way for a while.

There are a lot of Ag. chemicals that are in short supply. Many of the precursors, or chemicals themselves are made over seas.

I follow the Ice Age Farmer podcast, he's been predicting this for months. He says the issue isn't not enough food. The issue is that large bulk orders are being bought to be destroyed and transportation is an issue. In other words, this is an artificial shortage that is deliberate in nature. He also said that the city stores are being stocked before the rural stores, in an apparent attempt to keep the masses happy for as long as possible. I'd encourage following his podcast, I think he has youtube stuff too but they get taken down regularly. They're short and to the point unlike some of the long winded shit I've listened to. Good for my short attention span.

My wife makes our bread. /shrug

same here. Gluten free, potato starch free, "everything" free...

It's disgusting bread.

But it makes amazing toast.
yea, she's got a bunch of stuff that she makes. She made a cinnamon raisin twist bread dealio awhile back. it was amazing.
