How hard is inflation going to hit, or has hit?

Went to Taco Bell and had a $20 bill in my hand...

Had to go dig for some dollar bills as two combo meals now costs $23 bucks :shaking:

I can almost go buy real food at that price.

Chili's around here still does an $11 dinner, you can get a cheeseburger, fries salad and soda for $11 plus tax and tip. I know it's a loss leader, so I tip 20%+
it's hard to beat these days

I'm seeing "sales" or "roll backs" $500 off the generic utv at lowes, I forsee a period of deflation on bigger ticket items

now that i have seen a buc-ees I somewhat get it, but still cant believe the pay for a GM is 175-225. On the other hand, they are a successful company for a reason and appear to compensate their employees properly.

Retail, foodservice and convenience workers? Yeah, that's like herding cats while managing ordering, budgets, and keeping the customers happy.

They EARN that money.:homer:

I don't see their business model and rapid expansion sustaining, then again, I guess people continue to go for the brand? Not the garbage food... I just dont get it. I went once and wont be back.

Fucking "cheap" drive thru car wash is now $12, couple yrs ago was 7-8 depending on location, and they added in fucking tire shine:barf:

There's 2/3 of the country that hasn't had the fad run through it yet. Lots of money to be made selling ok sandwhiches, overpriced beef jerkey and home good trinkets.

I went once and wont be back.

Kwik trip is building a lot of stores this year.
Honestly they just plain kick ass. They have their own dairy, bakery, make their own hot food. They are building themselves to be very vertically run business. I can’t imagine how much money they make in a year. It seems there is a store every few miles up by me and they are always packed.

They get me with their healthier food options. I like their chef salads and small veggie trays. You just need to have the will power to walk by all the cookies, donuts, candy and fried chicken on you way to pay.

Also the marketing person in charge of the Facebook Twitter and instagram is funny. Their loyalty program was down for a few days a month or so ago and someone commented on the marketing guys post about how we should get a free beer because of it.

Say no more the marketing guy pulled through and made a coupon for a free beer only in Wisconsin for adults of legal age :lmao:

Our guys/gals like them for the healthier choices AT GROCERY STORE PRICES, not truck stop prices. They can fill their fridge with salad fixin's, fruit, pork chops, etc. for about the same as they could at the local Walmart... and its right down the road from our yard, too, with plenty of semi parking.

Their social media accounts are great.

Here they are Kwik Star. Every one of them is always busy.

The RFQ they sent out last year had 20+ new stores on it throughout Iowa, Wisconsin, and Illinois. We are doing one, and our other two branches each have one. They are insanely organized in their construction division.

Casey’s was really doing well here for years, and we were involved in several new stores and remodels for them, but Kwik Star is kicking their ass. We haven’t seen a new store RFQ from Casey’s in about 2-3 years

Bucees was great, now they suck. You'd think for a fully integrated company they'd keep their prices cheap... now they're all way overpriced.

Lines for even the men's restroom now, the stupid fucking chants, assholes frantically driving everywhere.

Fuck it, I'll go to QT. Prices are same, but 100x less headache.

long story somewhat short:

Where I grew up there is a family that owns a lot of the gas stations, krist oil. They hade some sort of agreement to not move into some of the kwik trip territory down by the green bay area(I'm guessing here). Meanwhile they have been setting the gas prices and somewhat screwing over a little town/local area. They had the majority of the stations and therefor were driving other out of business over the last 20 years. I guess they opened a station or two in the kwik trip territory and kwik trip retaliated by opening two locations in my small hometown. Anyways, kwik trip was, might still be, a literal destination in this town. Needless to say, the majority of people were stopping there.

When I first rolled through in Oct of last year I was confused by how many vehicles were parked at one gas station. People were literally waiting in line for anything. When I talked to some friends, he said his kids wanted nothing more than to go to the kwik trip. He refused to go in the first few months. Going by the other stations there was maybe one person parked there when there would be a few at a time usually.

I agree, kwik trip is pretty awesome. They have basically everything you could need on short notice for not crazy markups and DEF pumps to boot. Put a culvers next to them and you have everything a yooper or wisconsinite would want.

Did anyone see Biden is blaming corporate greed at grocery stores for the high prices of food? He is attempting to claim Bidenomic is actually working for the good of the people, and its grocery store owner’s greed costing folks money. Nothing to do with inflation not counting the price of food when reporting what inflation actually is.

same as it's always been, pit the lower class against the middle class
keeps them both busy so they don't realize they're both getting reamed out by the bankers on top

You're thinking way too marxist.

There's multiple factions within each class and depending on the problems in question you absolutely can wind up with a top to bottom vertically integrated group facing another group.

Just because someone's not "pull the strings" wealthy doesn't mean they're potentially (or can be convinced to be) on your side and just because someone's part of the ruling class doesn't mean they're fundamentally opposed to you.
