This spot reserved for my 27 Dodge Brothers attempt at a hot rod.

So I got this 1927 Dodge Brothers 4 door for 500 bucks. Jumped through the necessary hoops and now have it titled as an antique vehicle. It's in rough shape but I've seen modern dodges in worse shape. As of right now the plan is to beg, borrow and steal to keep the price as low as possible. I don't wanna say I'm building a rat rod but it's certainly not gonna be a Boyd level build either. Basic go fast toy. These pics are from when it showed up in my driveway.

I got it in the shop and was able to mock it up as much as possible. I discovered I have two different kinds of fenders right and left, so I'll be going fenderless. I'm still undetermined on the hood or partial hood or no hood.

Plan is to run a 6.0 LS, 4l80e and rear axle from a van. The intake pictured is the plan to remove the ugly from the LS. Front axle will be a 51 ford truck axle I have laying around.

I also grabbed some headlights off of Facebook and some model t brake lights off ebay.

The completed rig is somewhat the direction I want to go in except with a chop. Nothing extreme, I wanna drive the damn thing.

Other than that, it's a blank canvas and I have no real solid plans. I just want something to scare my mother and wife, piss off the neighbors and make my son think I'm the coolest. Lofty goals for sure.

I don't know if Texas will let you re-register original plates (YOM Year Of Manufacture), but I like doing this on my old vehicles here in CA. Maybe someone in TX sells original plates too?

Aleady bought a 1927 Texas plate for use on this specifically. I haven't run it through the registration place yet but if the numbers aren't in use I can use it.

I don't like the rat rod thing myself.
I like where your going with this build.
If you were putting in someting like a nailhead or 303 olds in it, I would vote for hoodless, but an LS I vote to hide it with a full hood

It's not just you...

I've seen it in a few different places tonight.

Maybe mention it to Austin.

Got my donor rig yesterday. Thanks Rttoys for hooking me up. And thanks leadfootcj for helping make sure I got the best price. :flipoff2:

6.0, 4l80e, locked rear axle... I plan on using the van floor for the hotrod floor, brake system, harnesses, roof, side panels, possibly the ifs...

Excited to get the first major piece of the puzzle that's gonna solve a lot of issues.

Ford Model T - says "stop" on them.

Was going to use them on Pinky, but decided something more techie was needed.

Great minds think alike. I've got 2 sitting on my shelf I got off Amazon a while back. Figured I'd finally use em. 😀

Well after a lot of debating I think I'm gonna have to part ways with the hot rod and associated parts I've gathered.

Gotta figure out how to sell it now since I don't facebook.
