I would start gathering duraspark components now. Your MSD box is probably going to roast another coil soon. Might be a good idea to get another distributor too and send it out to be rebuilt.
If you have a hot 2.3 a freshly rebuilt ford ignition system will work better than MSD or HEI

The two coil, 8-plug DIS system used on late 80s and early 90s 2.3s is pretty great if you want a hot spark and don't have a lot of electronics already.. EDIS is multi-discharge at low speeds. There's no reason to be running an aftermarket ignition on a 2.3 when you can just use stock shit.
