So, I started looking at the Henry lever action 22lr rifles and was juuuuuuust about to pull a trigger (pun intended) on one and I stumbled across Henry's 22lr pump rifle. I had no idea they made them but was excited to see them offer one up in their lineup.

The pump 22lr goes back into the 60's for me as it was the first rifle I had as a kid and was the first squirrel kill with it as well. My parents divorced when I was 12 and my POS father took my 22lr pump rifle with him and I never saw it again. I've bought and sold traded a bunch of firearms through the years tweaking my collection as I went, but I never owned a pump 22lr. I see the old school ones for sale here and there but usually more then I'll ever pay for one as they have become collectables. I'm not much for safe queens at all, in fact fancy gingerbread firearms just don't do anything for me, anniversary this or 1 of x amount made... blah. I do however have several firearms I've never shot in my safe but that's just due to time to actually go out back and shoot them. :emb: Now I own a fair amount of 22lr firearms, and I love shooting them when I can find the time.

So, now on to this Henry 22lr pump I just purchased off of gunbroker. The transaction went really smooth and they shipped it out fast to my FFL in just a few days. I was really excited about getting this firearm as maybe it's going to help fill that empty hole I have nagging at me about the loss of my childhood one. I picked it up from my FFL and didn't really inspect it like I should've, I mean, it's a new firearm, what could be wrong with it right? Well I get the thing home and take it out of it's plastic sleeve and see the wooden pump handle as some damage on it. That's no good and now I'm let down and then get into trying to get it taken care of. I messaged the seller who has a A+ standing and does a lot of sales, no reply back, uuugh. So, I find their number and call them, I talk to the seller and explain I never heard back from him and there is no way to send photos through GB message system. So, I email them to him and no reply back. I'll give it it's the holidays and he's probably very busy dealing with that in his store. But the fuel will be turned up coming this week to get this resolved.

I love the look and feel of this Henry 22lr pump firearm and can't wait to send some rounds through it. but I'm not doing that until I get a resolve on the pump grip. Next in line will be a Henry lever action 22lr rifle. I' owned one of those (Marlin) when I was a teenager but traded it off like a dumbass for a 20G. I've never owned a lever action since, not sure why other then I'm no real fan of a 30-30 round. I'd like one of those 45-70's someday though.

Anywho, insert is some photos of the pump grip damage.

Those are sweet, I've come really close to buying one a few times. I picked up an Evil Roy model Henry lever action for my youngest son a few years ago. It's tons of fun around the camp shooting bottle caps. Just wish the barrel was threaded.
Good luck getting the stock fixed should be a blast to shoot.

It's almost as if Ruger does quality control for Henry...
Ruger would make it right, I would bet Henry would too.

cool! been eye baling these as well as don't have a decent 22 yet.
I will say that their firearms are pretty impressive quality wise. The firearm I bought is very tight but smooth, it'll take a bunch of rounds through it to break it in I believe to where it'll be even better. I would recommend a Henry firearm if you're looking at something like this or a lever action.

I called out to Henry this morning and left my information with them, I think with the holidays, they are just taking calls at this point. I had great interaction with them on the phone and look forward to hearing back from them. They sent an email confirming my call to them.

I'll update as this unfolds.

Nothing constructive to add. But the most fun I've ever had shooting my buddies' dad brought a couple of youth model 22s from when they were kids. I loved shooting the Henry pump, was just a blast. Lever is great also, but you just don't see the pumps as often.

I grabbed a 10/22 last year, and it's great and all, but almost immediately wished I'd have bought a pump.

I called Henry back today and the guy I talked to; said they had sent out a shipping label for me to send the firearm to them for repair. I told him that there was no need for that as the only thing I see in need of repair is this grip and I can handle swapping that out easy enough. He agreed and said he'll ship it out, He was in a bit grumpy over the phone, I'll just mark that up to having to work though this week of holidays.

So far, I'll say that Henry has been very easy to deal with thus far. :usa:

Oh I have one of their 410, well 2 cause I got the tac version then decided I wanted the axe instead so I could changed the grip out for a smaller lop stock. Need to sell the other 410. :smokin:

What’s the deal with the Henry pump? I’ve been eye fucking one lately.

Gunbroker looks to average near $600 for one:homer:

Considering how many winchester/remington/savage's are out there for near the same money. I gotta wonder about the folks buying new henry's

I'm still on the hunt for a Rossi 62, direct copy of the Browning designed Winchester. Even those are $400-500.

I picked up a pretty clean winchester 62A for $700 2 years ago. I bet if a guy started throwing out $600 or so max bids on winchesters, it wouldnt take long until you had one

I'm hesitant to mention it because I don't need y'all buying them all up :flipoff2:, but I'm sort of collecting the old Winchester aluminum frame rimfires.

I grew up shooting my dad's 190 he won in high school FFA. Literal thousands of rounds through that thing. I got myself the fancier 290 version a couple years ago. In that same line up was a 250 pump .22 LR, 270 lever .22 LR, the 255 and 275 were the same actions in .22 WMR. All of the early non magnum models shot S, L, & LR, even the semi auto 190 and 290.

I have always been partial to the Rem 572. I have a few, but my favorite has a 3-lug QD .22 can. Since it can cycle shorts through long rifle, it is more quiet than an air rifle with the right ammo.

Looks like it was damaged in shipping. Have fun dealing with the carrier :flipoff2:
