There were a few posts of a tire that looked like a swamper on the outside edges, but had a kinda square block running down the center in another place...... Think they were called scorpion , but my googlefoo brings teh suck and I sirched, but keep striking out. The center looked like this and yes, I know that's a michelin xdy-1 and am super pissed they discontinued it. Need tires for the beater truck and was gonna throw those on it to try them, but can't find them...... Also was looking at the maxxis muddzilla m8080.

That picture is of a Semi Truck Tire, isn't it?

Ah yes, now a whole nother obstacle, finding them or getting them to Oregon...... This is just a shitty 06 f150, but is gonna be 85% farm truck and wanted some grip, but no death wobbles or bias hop to it.

ridenby might have imput about their road manners.

10-12 years ago?
I can’t find much on my phone, we used to recap vj-900s but it didnt have a middle block. But we could put any tread on them.

Those tires are simex tires btw. And they are great in the mud.

I wheeled with a guy that had these on a samurai, very stiff, didn’t even bulge at 0 psi. Might be a pain to mount at home with the ol bead breaker and spoons

I know 14 plys are a pita to mount with a old school tire machine .

I know it's stupid, but I also remember they were smaller tires, which is what I'm looking for. This isn't a wheeler, no lift, bone stock 280,000 mile 5.4, 265/70r17.. I've got other toys and projects.

The only Scorpion tire I know of is a Pirelli. The only one that is even slightly aggressive is the A/T+.

Yeah, I think it's the simex centipede. Hey, they both have exoskeletons......

Are you thinking of Badak tires? There is a set of 31s for sale here in Texas but they are 15s.

That's the name. I too was thinking of those. I used to want a set badly.

Talk about a company that's got shit for web presence :homer:

Edit:

Looks like they changed the name from centipede?

I have bought two sets of Badak-X-Treme one 35" and 37" both mounted with a "normal" mount of balance weight. Pull very well around here, wet and dry dirt mostly. Flat spot after sitting, howl nicely on the road. Now there is a 40" out.

The Simex Centipede are the original tires that all these re-threaders are copying.

Simex tires are excellent and not rethreads.
