I see these things for under $150 CAD on Amazon. I could really use something like that. I have a stick and mig but they are inconvenient to get out for small jobs. This would also be awesome for tacking projects together, then get out the real welder to finish up. So anyone got one yet?

Considering how okay-ish my big 3 name brand 120v mig worked at 130amps, I bet that thing does 2 things great; making spattery boogers and popping breakers. (edit: ok 3 things- Making lobster boys when it explodes in your hand.)

Looked this up on Amazon and it is labeled as a "frequently returned item". Doesn't say whether it requires both hands to return.
It's a fucking stick welder.....It does take some skill to weld; that is probably why all the returns. Milwaukee might be able to pull this off and actually have something. Fucking LiPo batteries and inverters are changing the game. :smokin::smokin::smokin::smokin:

Huh, 90 bucks in the USA

Actually, looks like $70 after the coupon savings :bounce2:

- and available overnight for those meth-based welding emergencies

I went with this one. I have a seesii spot welder for making my own lithium ion battery packs and it is a good unit so I sort of trust the brand. $122 CAD to my door and it will be here Sunday. I bought a $120 bottle of scotch last week and it's all gone. Hopefully this thing lasts longer

I propose a cheap death box racing league.

Chinese only tools, materials, engines, etc. Roll cages can only be welded with that fancy 'guohzy' handheld welder. Harbor freight ratchet straps for seat belts.

Harbor freight fire extinguishers and amazon nomex suits.

Also, you casket must also be hand made prior to entry.

We have a Tactical Welder for the race team.

Basically it's just a big battery that fits in a back pack. It's worked wonders several times for us. Flux core or Mig.

That one looks far more ergonomic than the one above, lighter ground clamp is nice

Duty cycle would be the concern, how much does it take before you can't hold it or it melts the guts out.

Normal home owner use, it's probably just fine.

I used a Karnage welder trailside last Saturday to slap my shit back together for another day and a half of wheeling at Green Acres. Highly recommend.

That China crap is not battery. It's 110.

I saw somebody (woahbros maybe) burn some beads with one. It wasn't great but it would burn some 3/32 6013 for an inch or two. I can't remember if it was the cheapest welder you could buy or the handheld one that died during filming.

Likely they're all scratch start AC.

Watching someone who can barely mig try and run a scratch start buzz box is highly entertaining. :lmao:
That might be me.

X2 on the Milwaukee should make one of these. A 12AH on the bottom of the pistol grip with the option of hooking up an umbilical cord to a remote 12AH, or multiples.

I bought a $30 bottle of whiskey in 2009 and it was still 3/4 full when I threw it out in 2022 when moving.

Well yeah... Who wants to drink cheap whiskey? :flipoff2:

I tend to have 1 drink a night from a decent bottle of scotch or bourbon. No use pounding the bottle back, but it's gone in a week or two.

So now I keep 10+ decent bottles on hand and only buy a few times a year.
