Managed to get my hands on a Ruger PC9 recently. Seems like a no brainer to go with the Glock magwell adapter, but I know little about Glocks. Always found them uncomfortable, so I never took any interest in them. What brand of mags should I look for, and which brands should I avoid? Do all mags universally fit the different generations of Glocks?

I have tried and had no problems with both Glock and magpul mags in both my g26 and pc9. No idea about others. The magpul ones are cheap cheap. You can fit the short 10 round mags.

As far as what will fit, either gen 3 or 4 glocks started doing a reversible mag release, where the mag has a slot in each side. Pc9 is also reversible mag release. So if you switch it, you need that slot in the mag. Other than that, I think about everything fits.

What stucky said. I'd go with either factory Glock mags or Magpul (I run them both in my custom built pcc 9mm as well as my Ruger PC9 (which is fun to shoot, even though it is a little heavy). And, the Magpul mags are much easier to tear down for cleaning.

ETS, Magpul, or OEM whatever you like or is cheapest at the time.

Taking apart a Glock mag is kinda like opening a Chinese puzzle box. :) Gotta think the folks at Glock really don't want them taken apart.

I'm not a Glock expert (which may become obvious very quickly) but IIRC several different models (17, 19, 21 'n such) mags may also function in a PCC (they do in my magwell adapter). I have used MagPul mags with great success in it, also.

The only mags I would avoid at ALL costs would be ANYTHING from Pro-Mag for ANY gun.

Bought this for my gen4 g17 haven't used it yet cause it's been too damn cold the days I have time to shoot. Seems quality, made in south Korea. Only have experience with factory glock mags.

I run factory mags in my pistols and rifles but I have more than 10K rounds through my KCI mags that go to the range only. I've never had any issues and would run them in carry guns if I needed to.

I like the metal lined ones
kinda the whole backbone of "glock reliability" is their retard-strength in the mags, what with the polymer cushion around the stainless body

KCI have done well by me, but what I carry are both OEM ones, a 15 in the gun and a 33 in a pocket
Tried carrying a 15 or a 17, but they sit deep enough in my pocket that whenever I bent over they'd butt into my flashlight and pocket knife that are clipped in the same pocket, ejecting them onto the floor. 33 is long enough to overlap the box cutter and penlight so they all stay put much better.

Glock for the 33rd g18 mags.

Whatever you can get your hands on that's not pro-mag for standards.

Mec-gar has really good aftermarket mags, and they do Sig OEM.

Finally got a minute to shoot so I stuffed it with a mixed bag of fc and cci aluminum and a few tula steel case for good measure. No issues slow or fast firing. Was easy to load. Wish it had metal feed lips but we'll see How it holds up.
