Gear reduction peeps, gotta dog tag question

I got this motor gear reduction assy off of a chain driven roller conveyor setup a couple years ago. I thought about using it on a project but not understanding the gear reduction on the gear box dog tag. Do any of you know what the :1 ratio is on it?

30 seconds of Google says 40:1. Easiest way to check is rotate the input shaft 10 times and see if you get a quarter turn on the output.

I was thinking it was 40:1 but don’t understand the other numbers in it reason for asking

I'm gonna guess 56:252 is the ratio, #40 is the chain size

There is no chain in a gear reduction

40 chain is micro small, bicycle chain ish sized
What ever chain is going to be used is never put on a reduction box.

56:252 is 4.5:1 not 40.

* 56:262 is 4.678:1

The 56/262 is the frame size of the motor.

Take the 4 bolts out, probably 5/16-18 and the motor pulls off the gear box. A key on the motor drives the gear box

Yes, I had it apart when I took it off of the conveyor. The bolts are only finger tight now
