Which UTVs have a driveshaft running to the rear diff that could be run to a rear solid axle?

Honda Talon does, but I'm not sure if anyone is above 200hp with that powertrain.

I haven't looked under a Maverick R or Pro R.

no idea, dont care. i would just be using the front bulkhead and diff mated to an scs case. offset engine trans/scs cases with input/output on the same side. driveshaft runs up the center between the driver and engine.

Rumor has it Justin Hall is planning on or building an Ifs car. He has more real world racing and competitive crawling experience then 95%+ of the field but is on a working mans budget. It will be interesting to see whay he comes up with.

Single seater, sitting next to an offset inline 4, narrow chassis. 6+ speed wide spread transmission with a deep ~4:1 first gear and ~0.6 overdrive, single speed transfer case and FIS, or trailing arm solid rear if you must . High reduction portals with lightweight differentials and axle shafts, 37" tires, ~80" wide or less, ~100" WB

4" portals with 15% reduction for $3700. That's for a set of 4, and you only really need them in the front.

I doubt they're strong enough, but they're sure cheap.

Go the other way from single seat, cram in a 3rd seat

Plan on 1st passenger getting out to assist with with first shit rock trail winchfest, abandon in desert. Drop second guy at next winch fest, abandon. End race single seat and save 10 minutes getting back in car and refitted

Still though, I think there's a lot of merit in the way they set the Dragon up. But the V engine configuration was a huge deterrent in how compact that concept could really become.

Completely speculating here - but I would guess it would raise enough safety concerns of a motorcycle being on/near the live course for them to be wary. Not that a walking person is safe in the first place

Yamaha YXZ has a fully divorced transmission, even from the engine.

Although I doubt the trans is a good platform, the engine is. The wildcat XX used the same engine but with a cvt, so it's obviously able to be adapted to different platforms.

I don't know of any trans issues with the Yammy. Several companies are offering different ratios for them.
It beats the heck out of belts.

The SCS wouldn't be needed. Overkill for 3-400hp

250hp with a turbo is about it without swapping the stock head for one from an Africa Twin. Do that and you can get to 300hp but it requires some custom work to do it.

I haven't heard of anybody blowing up a front or rear diff from anything other than a crash but I also don't know anyone running 300 plus hp through one either.

The easiest engine for us to use in our imaginary build would be a 1000+ cc motorcycle engine. Hayabusa turbo motors for example make stupid power, the transmission is already attached and figuring out reverse shouldn't be hard. Hell, put reverse in the transfer case like my Honda.

It would. E85 is another option and it's usually only about a 35% increase in consumption
