Full time wheeling & Travel

Early to mid April. The problem is my travel will put me at some of these places during the week. So I’m probably going to have to see about finding people with a flexible schedule that might can wheel with me, or just pass those places up till I can get back thru on a weekend.
smoor is only open on weekend usually so there is that to deal with also, call ahead and get the schedule he is open,. he does closed park things with horses and and off weekends and such.

You ever get down to Good Evening Ranch? It’s in Canvas, WV. Killer place with some great wheeling there. Camp ground, cabins, bar/restaurant and more all on site. It’s a lot like Golden Mountain used to be. I highly recommend it if you like hard core wheeling. Plenty for mild stuff too.
Just went to GER for the first time in October and will defintiely go back. It is a haul from Atlanta, but worth it.

The comparison to Golden Mountain is spot on.

get the youtube channel going good and you can charge people to hang out with you !!!...its a thing ..i cant believe people do that on both ends.

I retire in 10 days, heading souther then... in Va beach now until the wife checks off active duty back into reserves.
That's a good idea for money, and you're not wrong. However I cannot see myself doing that, I'm just a regular guy and the kind of people that would pay to go wheeling with me are most likely the kind of people that I would want to avoid anyway if we are being honest

Now I might would do some invite only type stuff or something at some point, but it's doubtful. There's a certain YT channel that has already brushed me off when I mentioned doing something together that would make good content for us both, and how my main goal was to build a large support network across the nation. They don't like buggies, or buggy people it seems.

I'm here to relate the blue collar, Busch Light drinkin, grill a steak and laugh about rev limiter beat downs that day kinda folks. No tire sponsors and ducks on the dash here lol.

Here's the video of our winter prep. I changed several settings on my phone and my upload settings trying to get the video to not be blurry. Doesn't seem I was able to accomplish that. My wife wasn't wearing a mic and we realized after the fact that she could barely be heard. I also had a few bad transitions, but hey I'm learning.

Here goes nothing. This will be the coldest I've seen in a long time, maybe ever.

Also, I watched this back and really struggle with if I want to put this much of my life out there or not. I don't know I guess I just feel a little weird about it.

I have now decided what my least favorite thing about living in the camper is…

I can’t take a dump in peace. With the thin walls and small space, it’s much like popping in a porta-Jon placed in the middle of a war zone. This morning I was doing my business and the dogs were rough housing, the kids were whining and bickering as they made cereal, my wife is telling the kids to quit, the dogs to lay down and telling me to turn the fan on and I just want to surf the forum in peace but no. There is no peace. There are times when the kids are out playing and the dogs are just relaxing, but if everyone is in here and you gotta drop one you can hang up any hopes of a peaceful experience

It’s not the end of the world by any means, but it’s certainly something I dislike the most lol.

i saw your vid this am and good job on keeping your pipes from freezing. that storm was no joke.

It certainly paid off. 7 people that I know of around me had frozen pipes resulting in several leaks and headaches. A couple still don’t have water cause they’re waiting on a mobile tech to come repair it and of course they’re booked slam up. It was worth the peace of mind. I actually still have it up right now cause it’s 24° tonight but I’ll be taking it down tomorrow.

Officially out on the road. We happened to go by the Busch’s baked beans plant, that was a cool surprise lol.

Driving thru Pigeon Forge on New Years Eve was an absolute nightmare. Holy cow at the traffic. We got permission to boondock at Dave & Busters for the night. We spent the evening playing games and eating there and was back in the camper by 8pm. We ran off the batteries all night no problem, which I learned my fridge apparently runs on batteries also.

I had just dozed off when the midnight fireworks and such woke me up, then by the time I feel back to sleep the place must have closed cause I heard everyone spilling out of the place having a good old time and many were blown away by the buggy. I heard several people making comments and taking pics, which made me a little worried someone may mess with it. Finally everyone went about their way and I went back to sleep. I forgot that place is basically a bar lol. But it was no big deal.

This morning we were up early and went on to Cracker Barrel to kill some time before checking into our home for the next month.

Our spot is a bit tight but we fit. We are excited to be on to somewhere new, we went out after getting setup and grabbed some late lunch and coffee.

This spot even has a deck, and nice Mountain View, which I didn’t snap a pic of yet.

Yes the traffic was real shitty on NYE.

What RV park are you in? Looks like one down on Wears Valley Rd but I forgot the name of it.

Nice buggy, I'd offer to go to Windrock with you but my shit is way to mild to hang with yours.

Yup, that’s the one. I went over to Townsend yesterday for some coffee and a disappointing lunch from some place called the dancing bean. Just another junk hole tourist trap, but the coffee was good.

I day tripped to Windrock Saturday and met up with a couple internet wheeling friends.

Windrock was a trip for the history books. One guy broke the input on his transfer case wayyyyy out far away on the north side of the park. It took hours to get him out, and several other things went wrong during all of that. I started to run out of gas, it was insanely cold and I had my boy with me. Luckily we kept him warm, the seat heaters were worth every dollar for sure. We also had extra food. The sun went down on us and we still had hours to go. We got back to the trucks about 9:30ish Saturday night. That is the super condensed version of what happened. I’m gonna work on a short video telling the story in depth with what little video I did get.

Windrock hates me. It’s got one more shot from me before I write that place off forever and never return 🤣

Some fun was still had, and new friendships forged out in the hardest of times on icy mountains. It was worth it all for the time I had with my boy, he was a champ about it all. Also pretty sure the guys I spent those hours with are friends for life now. We all agreed we owe each other a beer some time at a warmer date.

I did learn that the tune in the buggy sucks. It revs to 6500 and then just falls on its face. Alex said that’s fuel cut. Not only is that lame, cause I like to party, it kills my wheel speed just as I’m about to get up something. I can feather it and avoid that but I want to be able to mat the gas when needed and not deal with that. So I’m contacting some tuners along my route.

You can get them on Amazon. Ordering a set shortly for my build and my sxs. Just take the cover off the seat, install heater, recover, done.
that easy holly chit so having no heater this maybe the ticket to over come that. at least keep the bum warm... hell ya

Somehow I quit getting notifications for this thread so just got caught up. Glad you got to see Windrock with Alex since he knows that place so well but looked like a miserable fun trip temperature wise.

Our juggy has older PRP seats with their old heating elements. It makes me chuckle that the only vehicle we own with heated seats is a juggy with no windshield or doors but man is it nice to have.
