Working on a common rail diesel...changing fuel lines. HP lines from pump to fuel rail, fuel rail return, and rail to injector lines. Seeping/leaking a bit and gets a fuel rail pressure code after sitting a while. Prime 'er up and she fires off.

Inject pressures prob somewhere around 26,000 psi. How do I relieve pressure on this bitch so I can change these lines? It hasn't ran in like 3 or 4 days. Help me not take a finger off and/or get an unwanted subdermal injection of diesel fuel.

done this before, but the truck had been sitting a couple months. And it was a bigger leak that helped relieve a lotta pressure.

they aren't normal line nuts like any other injector line?

just loosen the nut and they spit a little bit if anything, pressure gone

I removed and reused these.

I can't remember if they were under pressure, but nothing crazy happened when I removed them.

You know how fear mongering labels can be.
Definitely don't go fucking around with them with the engine running, or use your dick beaters looking for a leak.

And also, if you're taking off lines that weren't leaking before, just give them a little extra ooomph when reinstalling. I've reused hundreds of them.

I dont even use a torque wrench. I've got a click stop elbow.

They may be 26,000 psi but that’s at like 1/1000 a teaspoon volume.

I used to make pressure switches. To test them, we would apply 12-15,000 PSI to test their failure point. People expected a big explosion, but in reality they went pfffft. The oil we used stored very little energy.

bleeding injector lines is the same deal, you just don't stick your tongue on it, or try and tighten the nuts with your fingers rather than the wrench
