Ford recall

No one knows how to build engines that last anymore.
Yep, our company leases out a huge amount of Ram 1500 trucks throughout the country. Incredible amount of engine failures due to the system that kills off cylinders at a stop light or other conditions. The idea alone sounds like a nightmare to begin with.

Sure they do, they just don't want to anymore. There's a lot less money to be made when people are only buying a new car every 20 years.
The manufacturers are producing crap but charging insane prices for their crappy made vehicles on top of it. Now the dealers are setting on stale overpriced inventories and losing employees due to them not being able to make enough money to survive.

Instead of a housing crash like in 07, we’re having a vehicle market crash right now.

Waiting for the recall on the 4 cyl ecoboosts from likr 2016 to 2019 ish? The block is a poor design, and the head gasket starts to leak into the cylinders. It's a pretty widespread issue. My wife's edge started having the issue at 70k, so just outta warrantree on miles but still in on time. They told me $8500 for a new engine, and I told them to GFY. Been driving it that way 2 years now, I just keep an eye on coolant level. It doesn't seem to eat a lot, and only misfires on startup once outta 4 times probably.

They're too busy trying to make every truck 600hp while also getting 40mpg with zero emissions.

Say "Small block Chevy" in the wild, and listen to the aristocrats harumph about how quaint that is. Between the Feds and consumers, no one GAF about longevity. Bluetooth 6.0 infotainment will be out next year!

No shit, I saw two of these on the side of the road coming back from Oregon yesterday.

One near Cottage Grove that was on the side of the road fully burned, and another near Vader, Wa with the hood up on the side of the road.

Both times I was thinking "wow, that's a brand new truck on the side of the road".

That’s gonna be spensive, ouch.
GM is also having valve issues, their 6.2’s are breaking valves. My buddy has a shop and these have been coming in already out of warranty, 2015-18 IIRC are the years. He has 3 rebuild 6.2’s in stock because he’s seeing so many.

How did you know they had 3.0 or 2.7 ecoboosts?
