What's new

Ford Maverick

I took mine on vacation this year and it did really well on fuel. On the way home I filled up at Bucees in Springfield Missouri with ethanol free gas, and I still have 1/4 tank. I live on the Indiana/ Illinois border and I was running 80+ most of the time

Which engine/package?

Just priced out a base 2.0 awd with 4k tow package at 29k

You sound like a woman. You give vague numbers and want us to act impressed. How far is it from Springfield to your house? How many gallons did you burn? Remember most fuel gauges don’t move linearly.

It’s like people selling cars say it is good on gas. “I drive to work all week and still have 3/4 tank left!”

Vague numbers? I guess you're incapable of looking at a map. At minimum it's almost 6 hours of driving, but I'm about 400 miles from Springfield

From my recollection, they are screwed to the aluminum tube frame. The boxes themselves are riveted together. I had one of my guys that wanted to swap the sides of his toolboxes, and it was just screwed together from what he shared with me.
How did they route the wires? Did they have to drill a hole to get it to the truck harness?

And a cab partition

What is the point of the cab partition?
If it's like the ones at my old job they're used to almost completely eliminate useful space in the back seat with useless "configurations" to protect the driver in the 1 in 1,000,000 chance of a severe frontal collision.

You know, for safety.

Or, to give a "secure" area to store valuable tools that can be foiled with a spring activated center punch and a 12" pry bar.

And they all got ripped out with less than 1,000 miles on the truck.

We used to get the little nissan vans with racks on the side so wide that you couldn't fit a 12" wide box down the middle. Ended up with a whole section of racking in the warehouse for the shelves that every tech ripped out of one side. Sometimes I swear whoever designs this stuff has never worked out of vehicle before

Same upfitter company had a run of vans they threw away the jack/tire kit, including the lugnut keys, leading to several guys having to get a tow for flat tires

If only there was a vehicle with an area separate from the driver, meant for carrying cargo.
I don't know about you, but I don't like smelling old gear lube and gas all day.
Also show me a van that gets 50+mpg. I got 54mpg on a hour drive last week

I'd probably just give Ford the money for the tow hooks.
Tow hooks are only available for the off-road package. And the front end is different on the trucks that don't have the package and isn't strong enough to add them.
I thought he was talking about an actual truck. Like one with a usable bed :flipoff2:
Oh shoot, I forgot you have to have a 100k truck with a 10 function tailgate to make money
:flipoff2:

Ford really need to make these with a longer bed and shorter cab options. But of course they don't want them too useful when they can sell a base f150 for 10k more

That's not offered in the US is it?

I asked the same thing and was told "its never going to happen" by a reliable source. I bet those would be hot sellers in the US if we could get our hands on them. They also make an "extended cab" model that's pretty cool looking.

Cough :flipoff2: You could nail a sheep or a goat back there with its legs draped over the tailgate . .. . Maybe have the backup camera catch the action :cookie:
