Ford F250 axle u-joint- Saturday is the new Tuesday

1997 F250 5.8. My rear driveline u-joint left the chat less than 2 mi from my house.

One of the strap bolts sheard. Is it Montrose of an idea is it to replace the u-joint with a single strap and drive it home?

Do you have 4wd?

Lock in front hubs and remove rear driveline - mark position so you can reassemble it as it was.

So go home in front wheel drive.
You can plug tcase output to make sure you don't lose fluid if its a spline type.

Easier solution: wire the yoke where its missing strap, keep an eye on it every so often...
