That was my first thought also.

It was a "El Camino" chopped geo metro that he later added a gooseneck hitch to, and had a ~8' deck trailer he'd haul with it.

I put 1968 Mercury Montego station wagon 302 V8 and full suspension in a 70 Maverick and ran Toyota camper dually rear wheels and had steerhorns on it. It was a fun car to play around in. I vowed to not waste that much time and effort on a car not a truck after that. It could outwheel any Subaru.
