worked a 1/2 day, had my 40 by lunch.
did some little fix its i have put off.
picked some veggies from garden.
got my ladder stand up.
deer destroyed my sweetcorn this year. to the point i have nothing to sell, just going to give some away and can some. no one has hunted this area in 20 years i am told.
got 7 doe tags so far and will get a 6 more from friends in my zone. also will allows others to hunt here, just to get the numbers down. will donate lots of venison.
got 200 - 12' locust post i will need to plant next spring to fence the field off on 2 sides the deer enter by.
 
Well, another early loser here. Got up early and took the dogs to the groomer, we spent the wait time doing the Costco and groceries run so time well spent. Unfortunately it's pouring rain and that does not motivate me to do anything at all. I am on my first OG Coors and thinking about baking for some strange reason. I kinda feel some biscuits and maybe a pecan cake may be in order.:smokin:
 
in. been working/on call fer the last 2 weeks. having a few brews and waiting fer the wife to get off work then grill up some chicken. :beer:

Off work in 1.5hrs then home. Gonna re-rig a few rods, make some dinner, watch some TV with the dogs, and hit the sack. 3:00am wakeup call to head to the lake tomorrow.

In. Had my 40 by 11 AM. Took the Jeep to get an adjustment on the alignment but it was too busy so just came home. Wife had lunch going so did a Peloton work out then grubbed. Started binging S2 Yellowstone with some Chivas and water.

just 15 acres, kinda surrounded by small lake swamp on one side. a nice older couple next to me with 250 acres that does not hunt anymore and stopped allowing people to hunt his land due to them destroying his fence and letting his beef cows out. a farmer that has 1500 acres but only allows him and 2 brothers hunt his land, he only allows trophy hunting, 8 or better.
 
wow. 8 or better. theres some big boys in there. im happy with a spike just to put meat in the freezer, of course a trophy would be nice but whatever.

i am the same, got a beauty 3 pt one antler last year in pa.

my first real hunting season here. since i moved in last fall.
 
In. Went to bed angry, woke up angry. Guy who pumps the shitter tanks decided to put locks on the lids. Those will be getting cut off. Mowed lawn since I had the day off. Still angry.
 
In. Gave up on work about 12. Fucked around the last couple hours and called it quits at 2:30. Home hiding in the house.

Indoor outdoor thermometer say 107 outside 76 inside with no AC. Glad we closed up the blinds before we went to work today.

probably wait until the sun goes down to go out and BBQ chicken thighs and corn.
 
Just got done painting my basement ceiling in preparations to sell my house. Jesus christ valspar pro ceiling paint is shit!! Cooking some burgers, maybe relax on the deck or take the dog for a walk, and try to mess around with the wife tonight. Been busting ass all week cleaning this place out, packing up my garage and knocking out punch list bullshit to list my house so I can GTFO of dodge.
 
In. I have had enough of this week already!!

I had Monday off and it went downhill fast from there. Worked Tues - Thursday on a jobsite babysitting idiots who broke the fuck out of 3 rigs in 2 days. Had to come up with a plan Wednesday afternoon to fix one of their fuck ups and have them back drilling in the morning. Customer decided to fix one of the broken pieces themselves at their shop, instead of letting me take it back to mine, and fucked it all up. I get there Yesterday morning and try to put the piece back on and it doesn't fit at all. I tell the superintendent the problem, he calls his "fabricator" out to the site and we immediately get into an argument about who did what and why it wasn't fixed correctly. Get them back up and running a few hours later with some mechanical magic and all is good in the world.

Get to the shop this morning and got the privilege of having a 7am phone meeting with the owner of my company, the service manager and the other dude I work with. Apparently the "fabricator" cried to the owner of his company about me hurting his feelings because i told him he didn't fix it the way I had asked him to. So his company owner called mine to bitch about my attitude yesterday and stir up shit. I told the guys in the meeting exactly what happened, what was said, how I remedied the situation with the parts, their "fabricator", and how everyone was happy when I left the site. I proceeded to get bitched at for the next half hour about "customer service" and a bunch of other stupid shit. :mad3:

I love my job, and go above and beyond for our customers. Sometimes even more so than what my company wants me to do because im just that kind of person, and without these customers id be out of a job.. Its always fun to get ZERO recognition for that shit but then get bitched out when 1 motherfucker out of the hundreds i deal with gets hurt feelers over something I say.

That put me in an "Everyone can go fuck themselves" mood for the rest of the day. :flipoff:

At home now relaxing on the deck with the pups, waiting for the wife to get home. I'm thinking pizza and a dip in the pool later this evening and then off to bed at a reasonable time. Wife and I are headed to OKC in the morning to visit friends. :smokin:
 
Spent 3.5 hrs today explaining to the customer that they are wasting money right now by having me on site still as there is nothing I can do for them at this point, and we need to revisit a game plan. After 2 hrs they decided to have a meeting to discuss it, for 1.5 hrs. During which I recapped the previous 2 hrs and part of yesterday. :rolleyes: Told them I would write up my report and we can do a call in on Monday, then left. Drove 7 hrs home and now about to install a water heater, as mine took a shit the day I left to go to said customer. Fun times. And of course the new one is shorter and fatter, so now I need to either extent the water lines or build a platform. Fun times!

Bright side is I should get ~$650 just for going up to do my job, no complaints there.
 
In! We had a buddy stop by last night and it ended being a MUCH too late night for 4:30 alarm clock. Today ended works 2-week vacation shutdown where 90% of the wage employees are out of the factory. It should be the 2 weeks that I work 40 hours or less... somehow still managed to work 55+ last week and 50+ this week. Just always something to do it seems like. I picked up Chinese on the way home for supper. Having a couple beers and watching Yellowstone with Husband, currently Season 2 Episode 3.

Things that I did not know until last night/confirmed today... there is an aluminum shortage I guess? Grocery store had 0 cans of Coors Light (my beer of choice), only bottles. Did some reading, guess it's impacting Molson/Coors and Dr Pepper.

Last week we had our main power supply upgraded to 200amp for when we put the new shop in. They set a new pole and everything looked great. Wednesday night we went to use the air compressor and everything in the detached garage surged - air compressor is shot, at least 2 of the overhead lights are shot and the day/night light on the outside of the garage went out. Power company ended up coming out and said everything was good on their end - that we don't have neutral anymore going to the garage. So... guess it's just coincidence that the neutral got cut somewhere right around the same time the pole/electric got set. We're going to hand trench out a couple hundred yards trying to find the break starting tomorrow.

On a positive note - dirt work is all done until the shop gets built! Should start building 2nd week of September. Need to round up a dump truck to haul ~250 ton of back fill from where the shop will be to the backside of the detached.
 
In. It’s been hot as balls the past few days. Mowed, washed mud off my truck, and gave our dogs a bath before it got too hot. Spent the afternoon with the kid while my wife ran errands. Now drinking a beer and watching a auction for some equipment I’m bidding on.

Got to love it! The customer I was just at asked me to speak to their safety guy, as their policies are crazy, and our machine does not need those policies due to built in safety features. I asked- are you sure you want ME to talk to him. I am going to tell it straight up. The policies there are insane. No knives, shears, scissors etc bc they are a danger bc one could cut themselves... they have ceramic box cutters so ppl can't cut themselves.... WTF if it will cut a box it will cut skin you dumb fucks. Safety guy found lots of stupid shit he wants 'fixed' even though it is well within OSHA standards. No prob I will provide you a quote for that on Monday! Hell they asked if I could quote expediting the order... no problem!

This world has become way to babied down. Grown adults can not have scissors, bc they could cut themselves.... WTF!

I pulled out my pocket knife to open a box and was told by the one guy I can't have that/do that. I just smiled and said 'okay' and went about opening the box. Had the safety guy said something I would have informed them I am finished here and packed up and left. I am fine with rules, provided they make sense. Stupid nanny BS is going to get a shoulder shrug from me.

Going stir crazy in my apartment. Figured fuck it, I'll go get a beer somewhere. I'm not wearing a god damn mask so I drive out to a hole in the wall place that doesn't give a shit if you smoke or anything else figuring they're probably not enforcing all the bullshit like every bar in the city is. I get there, not a mask in sight, people smoking. Awesome. Walk up to the bar and the 50 year old hag behind it seems irritated, gives me a bunch of side eye, then answers the phone. Ok...

She finally turns around and starts yelling at me about standing at the bar. :confused: Just give me a beer already. Nope, gotta go stand at a table. Well, there's no open tables, where do you want me to go? Apparently I can go stand in the corner by myself. No thanks, I'll stand at the bar like the 3 people at the end playing on the poker machine. Nope, not allowed within 6' of the bar unless I'm playing that. Oh and they've got a 20% surcharge for the rona on everything.

That idea lasted all of 5 minutes. Evidently Gov. Coon Man has the ABC board going undercover in bars all over the state to make sure people are distanced and shit. :mad3:

Quit my Amazon delivery gig earlier today.
It was time to move on, getting worse every day it seems.

Doing some construction work tomorrow with a friend, some money coming in while I am job hunting.

It is supposed to get pretty hot for the next week or so, no plans on going anywhere, keeping close to the house.
