I hope she’s not down stream of Lake Lure! I guess the water topped the dam around 1:30 pm and collapse is imminent
That's such a beautiful drive on I-40 through that area. One of my favorite drives on this planet.A lane of I-40 near the TN/NC line is gone. Hospital in Unicoi County, TN is under water as is downtown Newport, TN. There will be way more deaths in TN/NC than in FL.
There used to be a house on the side of the mountains you could see from the 40 near the tunnel with a big ass billboard for sale sign. If its still there to begin with I wonder how it held up to this? That's such a beautiful drive on I-40 through that area. One of my favorite drives on this planet.

So you are on the West Coast right now?Power shut off here after it was clear. Still out. All the bridges closed so I'm kind of stuck for a bit.
Driving a 45 ft RV will stick to the big roads..What are you trying to do? There aren’t :that: many alternates through there that won’t suck
I'm glad you're ok brother, you were on the top of my mind all day today with your park and playground.yeah, no real big deal here.
Newport, TN and Hartford, TN are really having the issues.
Just real minor stuff here.
My ATV park was just fine, we opened today.
Scary. All the power and phones and cell towers are down .
Wife has 2 nieces & a nephew in Beech Mountain, Boone, & Asheville. Both nieces checked in OK, nephew can't be reached but we're not worried because he's a volunteer firefighter & adrenaline junkie who loves helping folks & will probably keep going until he collapses or a supervisor knocks him out with a 2x4 .We have family in Highlands NC in Macon County and can’t get in touch with them
The family in Highlands are natives and lives there all their life so they are always prepared for snow etcWife has 2 nieces & a nephew in Beech Mountain, Boone, & Asheville. I hear it's really bad in your cousins area, neighborhoods completely gone and many dead. Hope he's OK. No way to get to some places and no communication. The family in Highlands are natives and lives there all their life so they are always prepared for snow etc
But they are also elderly, late 70s early 80s so always concerned about them
My cousin in Black Mountain isn’t such a good prepper ,but hopefully he had food and water for a few days
Most mountain folks do , but he’s not from there and hasn’t been living there but a couple of years
haven’t been able to get in touch with him either .
Family finally heard from my wife's nephew - alive and well, and as we expected, he's working his ass off to help folks out.The family in Highlands are natives and lives there all their life so they are always prepared for snow etc
