So of the 1999-2009 AD244 alternators, which application would have the highest OEM output alternator? Escalade? Hummer? Diesel 3500?

I'm going to upgrade my S10's CS130 and I need to know what to look for at the JY or EBAY or Rockauto.

05+ dr44g half ton Silverado has this alt with electric fans. not sure if the mounting is the same as the ca130 though

What amperage? Supposedly any Ad244 is a replacement physically for the cs130

08 Yukon Denali and 05 Escalade ESV are both 160A

2005-2007 classic silverado 2500hd 6.0 had a 150A (145) alt option, standard was 105A. The duramax had a 150A. 44g type maxed at 160A. I dont recall anything over 160 unless it was aftermarket.

What's wrong with the CS130? They can be had with high output. DB electric makes a 220A for $120. I've had good luck with their stuff, its what I'm going to swap in to replace my 12si.

The DG244 is pwm controlled. The regulator can be replaced with one from a AD244 but requires modification.
AD244 / DG244 mountings are the same.

Nothing "wrong" per say. It seems to be a cheap common upgrade to pick up a higher amp alt for the bigger chevies. It make sense monetarily if i can scrounge a 160 amp for a few $ vs $$$ for a new one. DB electric doesn't have anything for the S10 later than 1997, mine is a 2004. All they list for my model is (A single) starter.

This is what I was looking for.

So DB has one option for the CS130 and 3 of the 6 reviews are bad. :barf:
I take reviews with a grain of salt. Most of the people running high output alts are stereo f**s who try and pull massive systems on a single alt/battery setup. I've used their motors and stators for winches and dirtbikes and havent had issues. Maybe I'm just in the 50% of good reviews lol.

If you feel more comfortable running a gm alternator, that's cool too. Finding an Escalade in a JY might be harder to accomplish.

If I can go to autozone and ask for an OEM 160A alt for $100, I'm fine with that too. I just don't know what came with a 160.

That part number shows up everywhere as 253 amps, and a bunch of people have posted it as a good upgrade?
I've just never heard of a 235a alternator. But now that I have, I need it for some reason.
