Anyone here have experience with FireBall Tools' squares? They seem great for something like chassis and cage fab within a jig or on a table - https://fireballtool.com/ but would like to hear someone's two cents before ordering.

He has a youtube channel and sent a bunch of them out to other youtubers. Everyone seemed to love them. I've seen them used in several videos and they look like they work great. I've been planning on ordering a set once I get my shop set up and organized and get back to actually building shit.

I've got the small mega square and a pair of minions. Probably the best use per dollar I have spent on welding gear. I actually bought the first one from Jason at fabtech in person. With them I can easily get larger stuff to within 1/8 of square with very little effort

I'd recommend going with the cast iron, at least on the smaller sizes. The weight diff isn't bad and they seem to shrug off slag better. Also it's much more useful with more than 1, luckily he added the minion squares for a cheaper option. I'm probably going to get another pair when there is another sale

There are some pics in my trailer build where I used them

You live under a rock or something?

How have you not seen these, either through youtube or fabrication forums?

Because nobody posted them here until now AFAIK..... Bunch of fawkin slackers!
:flipoff2:

I dont do other forums except for one Honda SxS forum and don't watch much if any TV/YouTube.

Have a set of aluminum ones. Super handy. Made some gates with them and a bunch of other stuff. Magnet squares work okay but I’ve always had to tweak/square things up. With these they were dead on everytime. Worth the money and I plan on getting a set of minions soon. Paid full price so no sponsorship or hype man. Just a happy customer

I was going to buy some this month... but accidently bought a cnc mill so I will be broke for a little bit... like a few months!

I got an aluminum Mega Square for Christmas but haven't used it yet. I want a set of Minions too. I wanted the aluminum for weight savings since I don't do heavy fab work. If I wear it out I'll get the cast iron one.

Thanks for all the responses. Helps justifty the expense of ordering a a pair of minions and a couple of the 8" squares for up coming work on the 4Runner's frame and a driveway gate.

I have a couple, yes expensive, spent 200 on two.

but, I built a flatbed out of 2x4 tube, amd even though the squares were kind of small for it, it came out very square.

bottom line is, if you need 45 or 90 degree corners welded, these will pay for themselves on the first job.

I supose if i had a bif shop and a welding jig Id be ok without them, but they were worth ir for me.

p.s. spend more and get the bigger ones.

I think Fireball has a cool product that fits a definite niche, but there may be other options.

We have a big Siegmund fixture table :smokin: with a ton of clamps and accessories. It's $$$ and so are the accessories, but the squares they have are probably more versatile.

If you ever thought you might get a table in the future it might work to buy a few of those first. It's a system, so all the clamps and accessories would plug directly into the squares.

(Other makers of tables make all this stuff and it's interchangeable for the most part...28mm and some have 16mm systems...so it's possible to get cheaper)

Another option are angle plates used in machining. We have several of these around the shop for welding setups:
